...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Love and Marriage

From a letter written by Peter (Simon)
to believers dispersed throughout Asia Minor:

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement. Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.-1 Peter 3:1-7***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), Sarah (Sarai) Haran, and Nahor were born to Terah. Abraham and Sarah were born to different mothers and were husband and wife. When Abraham was 86 years old, Ishmael was born to Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. When Ishmael was in Hagar's womb, the interaction between Hagar and Sarah changed. Sarah spoke words of blame to Abraham, and Abraham gave Sarah permission to handle the situation. Sarah's subsequent mistreatment of Hagar caused Hagar to run away. The angel of the Lord spoke to Hagar in the desert and told Hagar to return to Sarah and Sarah's authority, and the angel spoke to Hagar of the child in Hagar's womb. When Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90, their only child Isaac was born. Sometime thereafter, when Sarah saw Ishmael mocking during a day of feasting, Sarah told Abraham to cast Hagar and Ishmael away. The Lord God spoke words of assurance to Abraham and told Abraham to listen to Sarah. Thus, Abraham provided Hagar with food and water and sent Hagar and Ishmael away. Three years after 127-year-old Sarah died, Isaac married Rebekah, Nahor's granddaughter. During the 20th year of Isaac and Rebekah's marriage, their only children, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel), were born. Esau was Isaac's favorite son and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite. When Isaac was quite old, Rebekah heard a conversation between Isaac and Esau and used the information to urge and help Jacob take deceptive actions. Seven years thereafter, Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel.  Over 1,900 years after Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah was born, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men, including Simon Peter, to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by many people, and returned to heaven. Sometime thereafter, Simon Peter wrote a divinely inspired letter to Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, who believed Jesus to be the Christ.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-5:42, 9:32-12:25, 15:1-41, Galatians 1:1-2:21, 1 Peter, 2 Peter

Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?-Genesis 18:11-12
