Believe You Me

And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much. Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal. And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it. And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another. And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments. And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only. And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him. And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal. And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them. And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day. Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.-2 Kings 10:18-28***King Ahab was the 7th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land. After Ahab died, his son Ahaziah became the 8th king to reign. Two years after Ahaziah began to rule the northern nation, Ahaziah died. Joram (Jehoram), the brother of Ahaziah and son of Ahab and Jezebel, became the 9th king to rule the northern nation of Israel. During the 12th year of Joram's reign, Elisha the prophet sent the son of a prophet to anoint Jehu to reign as king. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that sometime before Elisha's predecessor Elijah the prophet went up into heaven by a whirlwind, the Lord God told Elijah to anoint Jehu to rule the northern nation. After Jehu was anointed, Jehu killed Joram. Jehu also commanded that King Ahaziah, ruler of the southern nation of Judah in the Promised Land, be killed, and Jezebel be thrown to her death, and Ahab's 70 sons get beheaded, and the rest of Ahab's household, officials, relatives, and priests in Jezreel be killed. Moreover, Jehu commanded that Ahaziah's 42 visiting kinfolk and anyone else connected to Ahab in Samaria, the royal city, be killed, and an assembly of idolatrous prophets, worshipers, and priests be put to death. Jehu ruled the northern nation of Israel for 28 years and did not obey the commands of the Lord God. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and began taking Israelites to Assyria. King Hoshea was the 19th king to rule the northern nation. During Hoshea's reign, the Assyrians conquered  Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Ahaziah's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson King Jehoiakim (Eliakim) was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem, the royal city, and began looting the temple of the Lord. During the reign of Jehoiakim's son King Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the 18th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians began taking Israelites to Babylon. During the reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the birth tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Hosea 1:1-11, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
