...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

If I Only Had the Reign

Absalom

And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him. And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel. And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee.
Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice! And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him. -2 Samuel 15:1-6***King David was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land. Absalom and Tamar were born to David and Maacah, a Syrian (Aramean) princess from Geshur. Amnon was born to David and and Ahinoam. At least 2 years after Amnon raped Tamar, Absalom commanded his men to kill Amnon, and Absalom ran to Geshur. Three years after Amnon was killed, Absalom's cousin Joab went to Geshur and returned with Absalom. Over 900 years after Absalom was killed and Adonijah, the son born to David and Haggith, worked to proclaim himself king while David reigned, and Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites,  Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of David and his descendants, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.
