...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Which One

Elisha the prophet and King Jehu

And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead: And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber; Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not. So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth-gilead. And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain

-2 Kings 9:1-5***Sometime before Elijah the prophet went up into heaven by a whirlwind, the Lord God told Elijah to anoint Elisha as his successor, and anoint Jehu, an army officer, to reign as king over the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel in the Promised Land. After Jehu was anointed, Jehu's fellow officers immediately gave Jehu their support and allegiance. Jehu went to Jezreel and killed King Jehoram (Joram), the 9th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Moreover, Jehu commanded that Jehoram's mother Jezebel be fatally thrown down, and commanded the death of King Ahaziah, the 6th king to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, and commanded the deaths of the friends, relatives, and priests of Joram's father and Jezebel's husband King Ahab, the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, and commanded that Ahab's 70 male descendants in Samaria be killed and beheaded, and commanded the deaths of the false prophets, and the 42 relatives traveling to visit Ahaziah. Over 800 years after Jehu's son Jehoahaz became the 11th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, and Ahaziah's mother Athaliah began to rule Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
