Jesus the Christ, the Son of God,
in the home of a Pharisee
And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him. And he went into the Pharisee's house, and sat down to meat. And, behold, a woman in he city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment. And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment. Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.-Luke 7:36-39***At least 1,900 years after Levi and Judah were born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Rachel died, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Jesus was not fully recognized by his disciples or other Israelites. The Pharisees were a recognizable sect among the Israelites and obeyed the commandments, judgments, statutes, and laws that the Lord God gave Moses for the Israelites. Moreover, the Pharisees obeyed the traditions passed down by the Israelite elders. The Pharisees did not eat with sinners or perform any labor on the Sabbath day. The Pharisees thoroughly washed their hands before eating, cleaned the inside and outside of dishes before use, prayed and fasted often, wore specific garments and articles, respected the burial places of their ancestors, and gave a tithe of all they owned. When Jesus was at the home of a Pharisee, Jesus used the actions of a seemingly recognizable sinful woman to give another lesson about love, forgiveness, and the forgiveness of sins.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 1 John 1:1-10
