...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. The Lord God Himself

From the Epistle to the Hebrews,
in the New Testament of the Holy Bible:

But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.-Hebrews 6:9-20***Melchisedec (Melchizedek) the priest was given 10% of the goods captured by Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and his men after they rescued Abraham's nephew Lot and others from enemy kings Chedorlaomer, Amraphel, Arioch, and Tidal. King Bera was ruler of Sodom and offered to give Abraham all of his kingdom's recaptured goods. Abraham refused the offer and spoke to Bera about the solemn oath previously made to the Lord God. At least 10 years after Lot and the others were rescued, Abraham and King Abimelech, the Philistine ruler of Gerar, interacted 3 times. The 1st occurrence involved Abraham's wife and half sister Sarah (Sarai). The 2nd incident involved Abimelech and his army commander Phichol, and the 3rd incident involved Abimelech and a well. Between the time of Abraham's involvement with Melchisedec and Bera and the time of Abraham's involvement with Abimelech, the Lord God entered into a covenant with Abraham while Abraham was in a deep sleep. When Abraham was 99 years old, the Lord God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. When Abraham was 100 years old, Isaac was born to Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. Years thereafter, the Lord God commanded Abraham to offer Isaac as a burnt offering. When Abraham was obeying the commands, the angel of the Lord commanded Abraham not to put his hand on Isaac and the angel proclaimed the divine oath that the Lord God made. When Isaac was 40 years old, he became the husband of Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Twenty years after Isaac and Rebekah were married, their only children, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born. Decades thereafter, Jacob was married to Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Over 1,900 years after Judah was born to Jacob and Leah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Before Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot the disciple and apostle, and was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrectedseen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven less than 33 1/2 years after he was born, Jesus lived upon the same land that Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob, Leah, Rachel, maidservants Bilhah and Zilpah, and Judah and his siblings had lived. The divinely inspired, although not definitively identified writer of the Epistle to the Hebrews in the Holy Bible revealed Jesus to be a high priest, the Apostle and High Priest, a great high priest, a priest forever according to the order of Melchisedec.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, Hebrews

Reference Scriptures:
Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.-Genesis 12:1-3

And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.-Genesis 22:15-18
