...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Some Explaining

The Words of
Jesus the Christ,
the Son of God:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is another that beareth witness of me; and I know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true. Ye sent unto John, and he bare witness unto the truth. But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. He was a burning and a shining light; and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, ye believe not.-John 5:24-38
***John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi a few months before Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born into the tribe of Judah. John the Baptist was born to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth), an elderly, formerly childless couple. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the descendants of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). Over 1,400 years before John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Joshua, an Israelite from the tribe of Jacob's grandson Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son, led the Israelites across the divinely parted  Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, the land the the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Forty years before Joshua began leading the Israelites, Moses and his older brother Aaron, from the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi, led the Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Lord God gave Moses commands for consecration and boundaries, and at the specified time, the Lord God descended upon Mount Sinai, and the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them. The Israelites did not see any likeness of the Lord God. However, Moses, Aaron, Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu, and 70 Israelite elders saw a divine presence of the Lord God after following the commands that the Lord God gave Moses. Over 40 days thereafter, Moses made a request, and the Lord God descended in the cloud and stood with Moses upon Mount Sinai. While making proclamations, the Lord God passed by before Moses. People knew that Moses was a prophet of the Lord God and knew that the Lord God spoke to his prophet Moses face to face and mouth to mouth.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
