A message the Lord God

gave Hosea the prophet:

When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt. As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images. I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them. I drew them with cords of a man, with banks of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them. He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrians shall be his king, because they refused to return. And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels. And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him. How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together. I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city. They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west. They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD. Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.-Hosea 11:1-12/the complete chapter***Hosea was an Israelite and a prophet of the Lord God. Israel was the northern nation and Judah was the southern nation in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Throughout the reigns of the 4 kings in Judah who only worshiped the Lord God and never worshiped idols, and the reign of King Jeroboam, the 13th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, Hosea proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites. At least 400 years before Hosea and the kings were born, Canaan, the Promised Land, was inhabited by idolaters. When Abraham was in a deep sleep, the Lord God told Abraham that Abraham's descendants would be afflicted 400 years in a foreign land and come out of the land with a vast amount of valuable goods and begin living in Canaan. When Abraham was living with his wife Sarah (Sarai) in Canaan, miles from their nephew Lot, who was living with his family in Sodom, in Canaan, 2 angels of the Lord led Lot and Lot's wife and daughters away from Sodom before the Lord God rained brimstone and fire out of the heavens upon Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim. Over 500 years after the Lord God destroyed Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, with the Israelites carrying an abundance of valuable goods. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. Shortly thereafter, Moses spoke to the Israelites about their history and relationship with the Lord God, and the Ten Commandments that the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim to them, and the judgments, statutes, and laws that the Lord God gave Moses for the Israelites. Moreover, Moses recounted the commands about idolatry, and spoke of the idolatry that the Israelites had engaged in, and the command against returning to Egypt. When Moses went Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants. Over 400 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Rehoboam, the son born to King Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites.  After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south and consisted of the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah and Jacob's 12th and last son Benjamin. Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation and consisted of the other Israelite tribes. Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Notably, the tribe of Jacob's 11th born son Joseph actually became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim after Jacob proclaimed Joseph's sons Manasseh and Ephraim to be his own sons. The tribe of Ephraim became a prominent tribe in the northern nation of Israel, and throughout the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible, the northern nation is sometimes identified as Ephraim. In the Book of Hosea in the Holy Bible, Ephraim seemingly stands for the entire body of Israelites. The Israelites are identified as the son and firstborn of the Lord God, and the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's 20-year reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites captive. During the 9th year of the reign of King Hoshea, the 19th king to rule the northern nation, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Less than 125 years after Samaria was conquered, Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim) became the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, was the 18th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. During the 11th year of the reign of Jehoiakim's brother Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites.
