And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead. And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles. And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel. And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time. And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment. And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun? And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand. And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go. And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh. And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.-Judges 4:1-10***The children of Israel, the Israelites (Hebrews/Jews), descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac  and Rebekah, and Isaac and youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah were born to Jacob and his 1st wife Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and maidservant Bilhah. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and maidservant Zilpah. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel. Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons. When Jacob was 130 years old, he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt, the country wherein Joseph was second-in-command. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan, and Joseph and his siblings were dead, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. However, Moses lived in Egypt as the son of the daughter of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After 40-year-old Moses murdered an Egyptian, and the murder was mentioned to Moses, and Pharaoh wanted to kill Moses, Moses left Egypt and began living in Midian. Moses married Zipporah, a Midianite women, and worked as a shepherd for Zipporah's father. When Moses was 80 years old, he saw the fiery sight that led to his conversation with the Lord God. The Lord God sent Moses and 83-year-old Aaron to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh and the Egyptians rushed the Israelites to leave. Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur.  During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, from the tribe of Ephraim, was a warrior, and spy, and served as Moses' aide, and became Moses' successor. Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. After Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Israelites were led by elders, judges, or their own minds. Moreover, the Israelites followed the idolatrous practices of the inhabitants still living throughout Canaan. When Othniel, Ehud, Shamgar, Deborah, Gideon (Jerubbaal), Tola, Jair, Jephthah, Ibzan, Elon, Abdon, and Samson led the Israelites, the Lord God gave them the victory. Samuel, the priest and prophet from the tribe of Levi, was the last judge the Lord God established to lead the Israelites, and Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, was the 1st king to rule over the Israelites in the Promised Land. Approximately 1,000 years after David, from the tribe of Judah, became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
