...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Just Obedience

From the Epistle to the Hebrews,
in the New Testament of the Holy Bible:

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: for he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son. Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.-Hebrews 11:8-19***After the Lord God spoke to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) about blessings, land, a son and other descendants to be born, and after decades of a childless marriage, and the suggestion of his wife Sarah (Sarai), Ishmael was born to 86-year-old Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. When Abraham was 99 years old and Ishmael was 13, the Lord God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision and reconfirmed to Abraham that a son would be born to Abraham and Sarah. Isaac was born to Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. After Sarah noticed Ishmael's behavior during a celebration, and with assurance from the Lord God, Abraham sent Hagar and Ishmael away. Years thereafter, the Lord God told Abraham to take Isaac to Moriah and offer Isaac as a burnt offering. Thus, Abraham, Isaac and 2 servants journeyed to Moriah with a donkey that was laden with wood. During the 3rd day of the journey, Abraham told the servants to remain with the animal while he and Isaac went to worship. As Abraham and Isaac walked, Isaac questioned Abraham, and Abraham answered Isaac. Upon arrival at the appointed place, Abraham prepared to sacrifice Isaac. However, the angel of the Lord spoke from heaven to Abraham and gave Abraham different commands. The divinely inspired writer of the Epistle to the Hebrews in the Holy Bible revealed the thought Abraham was thinking. When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was Isaac's favorite and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite. During the 7th year after Jacob obeyed Rebekah, and deceived Isaac, and cheated Esau, and Isaac sent Jacob from Beersheba, Canaan, to Rebekah's family in Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Levi was the 3rd son born to Jacob and Leah, and Judah was Jacob and Leah's 4th born son. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. Approximately 1,900 years after Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-2:17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, Romans 4:1-25, Hebrews
