From a letter written by Simon Peter to believers:
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandments of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.-2 Peter 3:1-13***The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that on the 6th day, in the beginning, the Lord God created Adam, the 1st man. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. The Lord God told Adam and Eve's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Noah the ark builder that he wanted to destroy mankind. During the 600th year of Noah's life, the Lord God brought a flood upon the earth, and everyone except for righteous Noah, Noah's wife, their sons Shem, Ham and Japheth and each son's wife was destroyed. All other living creatures, except those upon the ark and those within the sea, were destroyed. Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai) were born to Shem's great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Terah. When Abraham was living with his family in Ur, in southern Mesopotamia, the Lord God told Abraham to depart from his country, kin and father's house and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham journeyed away from Ur with Sarah, Terah and nephew Lot, and they began living in Haran, in northern Mesopotamia. Sometime after 205-year old Terah died in Haran, Abraham, Sarah and Lot moved with their servants and possessions to Canaan, a land inhabited by idolaters. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and Abraham. When Abraham was in a deep sleep with a great darkness upon him, the Lord God revealed that Abraham's descendants would be oppressed 400 years in a foreign land. The Lord God said he would judge the land, and Abraham's descendants would come out of the land with a vast amount of valuable goods and live in Canaan. The Lord God said the events would not take place until the sin of the land's current inhabitants reached its full measure, and the Lord God made a covenant with Abraham. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and his wife Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. During the 7th year after Jacob was sent from Beersheba, Canaan, to Rebekah's family in Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Levi was the 3rd son born to Jacob and Leah, and Judah was Jacob and Leah's 4th born son. Approximately 1,900 years after Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel near Bethlehem, and Rachel died, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men, including Simon Peter, to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Simon Peter was among the 3 disciples and apostles most constantly with Jesus. Jesus told his disciples that he would be killed, and after 3 days he would rise again, and he would go ahead of the disciples into Galilee. Jesus said that at the end of the age he will return to earth with angels and only his Father, the Lord God in heaven, knows when the return of Jesus will occur. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by the disciple and apostle Judas Iscariot, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb,
resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Simon Peter became a leader among believers and wrote at least 2 divinely inspired letters.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-12:25, 1 Peter, 2 Peter
