From the Epistle of James,
in the New Testament of the Holy Bible:
Go to now, ye that say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.-James 4:13-17***When Samuel the priest, prophet and judge was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them. Samuel was troubled by their request and prayed to the Lord God and proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites. Shortly thereafter, Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, to reign as king, according to the command of the Lord God. Before the Ammonites attacked the Israelites in Jabesh-gilead, the elders in Jabesh-gilead sent out a call for help. Saul heard about the intentions of the Ammonites, and the Spirit of God came upon Saul. Saul's actions helped lead the Israelites to victory. Afterwards, Samuel went with the Israelites to Gilgal, and the Israelites acknowledged Saul as their king, and presented sacrifices and offerings to the Lord God, and the Israelites rejoiced. Samuel lifted up the reputation of his own life and briefly recounted the history of the Israelites, beginning from the era when their ancestors were enslaved in Egypt. Samuel spoke about the goodness of the Lord God, and the actions involved in asking for a king, and let the Israelites know that he was going to have the Lord God send thunder and rain. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God sent thunder and rain, causing the Israelites to fear the Lord God and Samuel. The Israelites asked Samuel to pray to the Lord God on their behalf. Samuel replied that he wouldn't sin against the Lord God by ceasing to pray for them. At least twice, Saul disobeyed the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel to anoint David, from the tribe of Judah, to reign as king. After Saul's self-inflicted death on the battlefield, David began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) reigned over the other Israelite tribes. Sometime after Ishbosheth was murdered, David began to reign over all of the Israelites. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Years thereafter, the divinely inspired, although not definitely identified, writer of the Epistle of James in the Holy Bible revealed a message regarding sin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges, 1 Samuel, 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-11:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-9:31, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 13:1-52, James
