...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Yes or No

The Philistines, their priests and diviners,
and the ark of the covenant of the Lord God:

And the ark of the LORD was in the country of the Philistines seven months. And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the LORD? tell us wherewith we shall send it to his place. And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return him a trespass offering: then ye shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you
.-1 Samuel 6:1-3

Then said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords. Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land. Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?-1 Samuel 6:4-6***
Aaron and his younger brother Moses were Israelites from the tribe of Levi, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah,
Jacob (Israel) and Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, and the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt, the Lord God sent Moses and Aaron to speak to the Israelites and to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get the Israelites and their animals and go serve the Lord God. Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. Months thereafter, in the desert wilderness of Sinai, when Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights, the Lord God commanded Moses to have every willing Israelite bring an offering and make a tabernacle, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and other sacred items. During the 40th year of their journey from Egypt to Canaan, the Promised Land, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor. When 120-year-old Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and to Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Approximately 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Eli, a descendant of Aaron and Aaron's wife Elisheba, was the high priest. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that when Eli was elderly, and his sons Hophni and Phinehas were wicked, the Philistines came to battle the Israelites and won the 1st round. The Israelite elders asked why the Lord God allowed the defeat and the elders suggested that the ark of the covenant of the Lord be brought to their encampment to save them from the Phiiistines. Once the ark of the covenant of the Lord was brought to the Israelites, and the Philistines heard the earth-shaking shouts of the Israelites, and knew that the ark of the covenant of the Lord was among the Israelites, the Philistines were frightened. However, the Philistines encouraged themselves, and defeated the Israelites, and took the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and killed Hophni and Phinehas. Eli was told that Hophni and Phinehas were dead, and Eli fell from his chair and his neck broke after hearing that the Philistines had taken the ark of the covenant of the Lord. Moreover, the wife of Phinehas gave birth to their son Ichabod and died.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 27:12-12, Deuteronomy 31:1-34:12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 18:1-28, 1 Samuel, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 6:1-81, Matthew, Mark, Like, John, Acts 1:1-26
