And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren. And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him. And when he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land. So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha, which he spake.-2 Kings 2:19-22***Over 500 years after Moses the prophet, his older siblings Aaron the priest and Miriam the prophetess, and their fellow Israelites came upon the undrinkable water in Marah, in the desert wilderness of Shur, after Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery and across the divinely parted Red Sea, Elisha the prophet was in Jericho with a group of sons of the prophets. Shortly before Elisha and the group were together, Elisha was in Gilgal with his predecessor Elijah the prophet. In Bethel and Jericho, the sons of the prophets asked Elisha a divine question. At the Jordan River, Elisha and 50 sons of the prophets suddenly saw a chariot of fire with horses of fire, and saw Elijah go up into heaven by a whirlwind. After pleading for Elisha's permission, the sons of the prophets sent 50 strong men to look for Elijah. On the 3rd day, they still had not found Elijah and their search stopped. In Jericho, Elisha spoke to the group again and also spoke to the men inhabiting Jericho. Over 800 years after Elisha died and his body was buried, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Judah was the 4th son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Levi, the tribal ancestor of Miriam, Aaron and Moses, was Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-34:12, Joshua 1:1-7:26, 1 Kings 17:1-22:53, 2 Kings 1:1-13:25, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 6:1-81, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases.
