Alrighty, then

The death of Ahithophel

And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and gat him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the sepulchre of his father.-2 Samuel 17:23***Joshua was an Israelite from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Sometime after Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, Joshua and the appointed leaders began allotting each tribe its portion of the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Giloh was in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Judah, the Israelites descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Over 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Saul, from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, became the 1st king to reign over the Israelites. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi, to anoint David, from the tribe of Judah, to reign as king. Sometime thereafter, David began serving as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul. After David killed Goliath the gigantic Philistine, Saul kept David in his service full-time. Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab (Ishui), and Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) were Saul's sons, and Merab and Michal were Saul's daughters. David and Jonathan made a covenant. The Israelite women sang of David higher than they sang of Saul, and Saul was angry. Saul was afraid of David, and wanted to kill David, and appointed David captain over 1,000 troops, and sent David on missions to get killed, and commanded others, including Jonathan, to kill David. Michal became David's wife and helped David escape from their home. While David lived on the run, Saul arranged for Michal to marry Palti (Phalti/Paltiel/Phaltiel), and David became the husband of Abigail and Ahinoam. Sometime after the Philistines killed Jonathan, Malchishua and Abinadab, and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David and he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Ishbosheth reigned over the other Israelite tribes. After Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed David, and 37-year-old David began to reign over all of the Israelites. Ahithophel was from Giloh, and was identified as a Gilonite, and served as David's counselor. While David reigned, Amnon, the son born to David and Ahinoam, raped Tamar, the daughter born to David and Maacah, a Syrian (Aramean) princess from Geshur. David and Maacah's son Absalom planned and commanded the death of Amnon. Afterwards, Absalom hurried to Geshur. During Absalom's 3rd year in Geshur, his cousin Joab, the commander of David's army, arranged for Absalom to return home. Throughout the next 2 years, David refused to see Absalom. Absalom sent for Joab twice. However, Joab did not meet with Absalom. Absalom's servants burned Joab's field, according to Absalom's command, and Joab went to Absalom. Absalom spoke to Joab, and Joab went to David, and Absalom was summoned and went to David. In Jerusalem, Absalom worked to win the Israelites to his side. Eventually, Absalom had himself proclaimed king, and Ahithophel joined Absalom. David and those loyal to David left Jerusalem. Hushai the Archite was loyal to David and was possibly from Archi, in the portion of the Promised Land allotted to the tribe of Ephraim. When David learned that Ahithophel was conspiring with Absalom, David prayed to the Lord God and asked the Lord God to turn Ahithophel's counsel into foolishness. David told Hushai to pretend to be loyal to Absalom, thereby allowing Hushai the opportunity to defeat Ahithophel's advice. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that when Absalom asked Ahithophel for advice, Ahithophel's suggestion involved David's concubines, and Absalom obeyed Ahithophel's instructions. Ahithophel also wanted Absalom's permission to choose 12,000 men and capture and kill David. Absalom and the elders found Ahithophel's advice agreeable. Hushai suggested a different plan when Absalom asked to hear his idea. Absalom and those with Absalom thought that Hushai's advice was better. When David spoke to Ittai the Gittite, and Joab, and Joab's brother Abishai, David told them to be gentle with Absalom and don't touch Absalom. Joab disobeyed David's command and thrust 3 weapons into Absalom's heart, and Joab's armor-bearers surrounded and attacked Absalom, and Absalom died. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, and 70-year-old David died, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, Deuteronomy 31:1-34:12, Joshua, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra 1:1-11, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
