Jesus the Christ, the Son of God,
and some scribes and Pharisees:
And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered. And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him. But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth. Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it? And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other. And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus. And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.-Luke 6:6-12***Months after Moses and his older brother Aaron led their fellow Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, they were in the desert wilderness of Sinai. In the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them. The commandment regarding the Sabbath day was the 4th of the Ten Commandments. Immediately thereafter, the Lord God began giving Moses judgments for the Israelites. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights, Moses did not eat any food or consume any liquids. Before the Lord God sent Moses down from the mountain, the Lord God gave Moses further revelations regarding the Sabbath day, and the Lord God gave Moses 2 stone tablets whereupon were written, with the finger of God, the Ten Commandments. The Lord God told Moses that in 6 days the Lord God made the heavens and the earth and on the 7th day the Lord God rested and was refreshed. During the 40th year of their journey, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi, the birth tribe of Aaron and Moses. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. The scribes and the Pharisees were prominent and recognizable sects of Israelites. Scribes were specifically educated and could accurately copy, transcribe and record information. The scribes were taught, and could teach, all the laws that the Lord God gave to Moses for the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. The Pharisees knew all the laws and professed the existence of spirit, angels and resurrection. The scribes and Pharisees obeyed the traditions that were passed down by the Israelite elders, and the scribes and Pharisees kept their distance from certain Israelites. The scribes and the Pharisees did not believe Jesus to be the Christ. Moreover, both groups accused Jesus of speaking blasphemously, and they associated Jesus with evil.
