...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 (KJV) reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

For If You Do

Moses speaks to his fellow Israelites:

At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release. And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD's release. Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release; Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it: Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day. For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee. If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth. Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee. Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto. For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land
.-Deuteronomy 15:1-11***Over 600 years before Joshua led his fellow Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, the Lord God told Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) that Abraham's descendants would be afflicted in a foreign land before they would come out of the land with a vast amount of valuable goods. Moses was an Israelite from the tribe of Levi, descended from Abraham and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old, the Lord God told Moses that he was sending him to lead the Israelites away from Egyptian slavery to a land that was beautiful, wide and flowing with milk and honey. Before Moses and his older brother Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them,  away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, the Israelites requested and were given a vast amount of valuable goods, including  silver, gold and gems. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites offered an abundant supply of goods to make the  tabernacle and sacred items that the Lord God described and showed to Moses were to be made. When Moses sent 12 Israelites to
search the Promised Land, according to the command of the Lord God and the request of the Israelites, the 12 spies returned with gigantic fruit and acknowledged that milk and honey were flowing in the land. Canaan, the Promised Land, was filled with well built cities, fully supplied homes, wells ready to use, and fruit and vegetables abundantly growing. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God gave Moses judgments,
statutes, and laws that the Israelites were to observe whenever they were in the midst of anyone destitute in the Promised Land. During the 40th year of their journey, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount NeboThe Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried. Joshua was Moses' aide and successor  from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim. After the Lord God spoke to him, Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, and Jesus spoke about the poor to his disciples and other listeners.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Leviticus 19:1-37, 23:1-44, 25:1-55, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
