...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Romans 15:4 (KJV) reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

A message the Lord God
revealed to Ezekiel the prophet:

The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying, What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die. But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right, And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman, And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment; He that hath not given forth u    pon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man, Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord GOD.
-Ezekiel 18:1-9***When Ezekiel the priest and prophet was among his fellow Israelites in Babylon, after the Babylonians took them captive from Jerusalem and other parts of Judah, the southern nation in the Promised Land, the Lord God revealed to Ezekiel the actions and behavior of a just man. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth), Israelites descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph, a just man, when Mary was a virgin. After Mary's time of purification were fulfilled, Joseph and Mary took Jesus to Jerusalem to present Jesus to the Lord God and offer the required sacrifices, according to the law that the Lord gave Moses for the Israelites over 1,400 years earlier. Simeon, a just man, saw Jesus, held Jesus, blessed the Lord God, and blessed the family. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Herod Antipas the tetrarch, ruler of Galilee for the Roman Empire, knew John the Baptist to be a just man. Yet, due to a request Herod Antipas granted his stepdaughter, John the Baptist was beheaded. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas  Iscariot, the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested and crucified. The wife of Pontius Pilate, governor of Judea for the Roman Empire, identified Jesus as a just man. Joseph of Arimathea, a just man and a secret disciple of Jesus the Christ, went to Pilate and asked to be given the body of Jesus the Christ. Afterwards, Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, a Pharisee who had previously spoken privately with Jesus, prepared the body of Jesus for burial, and placed the body of Jesus in a new tomb owned by Joseph of Arimathea, and rolled a large, wide stone in front of the tomb's entrance, and Jesus was resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Ezekiel, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
