...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

I'm a Great Ol' Wealthy Man, I'm so Great and Wealthy
Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold, Beside that he had of the merchantmen, and of the traffick of the spice merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the country. And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold: six hundred shekels of gold went to one target. And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold. The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were stays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays. And twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom. And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold; none were of silver: it was nothing accounted of in the days of Solomon. For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks. So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom. And all the earth sought to Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart. And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, a rate year by year. And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem. And the king made silver to be in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he to be as the sycomore trees that are in the vale, for abundance. And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price. And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.-1 Kings 10:14-29***King David was an Israelite from the tribe of Judah, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Years after David was anointed to reign as king, David began to reign only over the tribe of Judah in the Promised Land. Hebron served as the royal city, and sons were born to David and his wives. Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) reigned over the other Israelite tribes. Ishbosheth's father King Saul was the 1st king to reign over the Israelites in the Promised Land. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge who had anointed Saul, to anoint David to reign. Sometime after Saul's sons Jonathan, Malchishua and Abinadab (Ishui?) were killed by the Philistines, and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David and he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Ishbosheth reigned over the other Israelite tribes. After Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders journeyed to Hebron and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed 37-year-old David, and David became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites in the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. David established the City of David, and Jerusalem was developed. While David's troops were battling the Ammonites, David plotted and sent Uriah, the husband of Bathsheba, to the battlefront. David married Bathsheba, and the 1st child born to David and Bathsheba died on the 7th day after the Lord God struck the baby. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. When Solomon was in Gibeon, the city wherein the tabernacle of the Lord was located, and Solomon offered sacrifices to the Lord God, the Lord God told Solomon to make a request. Solomon spoke to the Lord God and asked the Lord God to give him an understanding heart, wisdom and knowledge. The Lord God gave Solomon unparalleled wisdom, riches, and honor, and the possibility of long life. However, the multitude of idol worshiping princesses Solomon married, and Solomon's idolatry, and the multitude of horses, silver and gold Solomon possessed were in disobedience to the commandments, judgments, statutes, and laws that the Lord God gave centuries earlier for the Israelites. Every Israelite king was to write a copy of the law and have the law with him and read it for the rest of his life. Over 900 years after Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 7:1-26, 17:14-20, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-14:31, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-12:16, Ecclesiastes 1:1-2:26, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
