...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Walk This Way

From a letter written by the apostle Paul,
with Silvanus (Silas) and Timotheus (Timothy),
to believers in Thessalonica:

1 Thessalonians Chapter 5 :14-28

14.Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

15.See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

16.Rejoice evermore.

17.Pray without ceasing.

18.In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

19.Quench not the Spirit.

20.Despise not prophesyings.

21.Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

22.Abstain from all appearance of evil.

23.And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24.Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

25.Brethren, pray for us.

26.Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

27.I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

28.The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Over 1,900 years after Levi and Judah were born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Benjamin was born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, John the Baptist, and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, and Paul (Saul) were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Paul was born into the tribe of Benjamin. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist. The Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus, and the Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. For 40 days Jesus fasted and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and Jesus went to Galilee. Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Meanwhile, John the Baptist was imprisoned and beheaded. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven. Sometime thereafter, Paul was persecuting and imprisoning any Israelite who believed Jesus to be the Christ. When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus in Syria to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believer he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus, Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, the good news of Jesus the Christ and everlasting life.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 8:1-40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, Romans, 1 Corinthian, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon
