Psalm 78 consists of 72 verses,
verses 1-8 are given below:
Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.-Psalm 78:1-8***Asaph was an Israelite from the tribe of Levi, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. David was an Israelite from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Judah. After David became the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites in the Promised Land, Asaph played cymbals during the mission taken with David and their fellow Israelites to retrieve the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. Afterwards, Asaph was among the many musicians appointed by David and the Levites to worship, praise and petition the Lord God and minister steadily in front of the tent in the City of David wherein the ark of the covenant was placed. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Solomon's workers finished building the temple of the Lord, and the priests put the ark in the Most Holy Place in the temple, Asaph was among the musicians playing as the priests came out of the temple. Asaph was also a psalmist and a prophet of the Lord God, and is the widely recognized writer of Psalm 78. Over 600 years after the divinely inspired psalms of David and Asaph were written, and the proverbs of Solomon were spoken and transcribed, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings 1:1-11:43, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles 1:1-9:31, Psalm 50, Psalms 73-Psalm 83, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
