FROM THIS:
And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone. But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer, it is I; be not afraid. And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?-Matthew 14:22-31***Simon Peter was the disciple and apostle who received the revelation of Jesus being the Christ, the Son of God. Simon Peter recognized himself as a sinful man and later stated that he and the other disciples had left all and followed Jesus. Several times, Jesus spoke to the disciples and apostles about their faith. During a storm, the fearful disciples and apostles awakened Jesus. When the disciples and apostles were in a boat traveling across the water, and Jesus came walking upon the water towards them, Simon Peter made a request. Afterwards, Simon Peter began walking on the water and became frightened and began to sink. When Simon Peter, James and John were atop a mountain with Jesus, Simon Peter, James and John became frightened upon hearing the voice of the Lord God speaking to them from the cloud. Sometime thereafter, Jesus was betrayed by the disciple and apostle Judas Iscariot, and Jesus was arrested. Simon Peter denied knowing Jesus 3 separate times, although he had previously told Jesus that he would never be offended because of Jesus, and would go to prison with Jesus, and lay down his life for Jesus, and die with Jesus.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
TO THIS:
And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda. And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy. And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord. Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did. And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber. And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them. Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them. But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up. And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.-Acts 9:32-41***Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told Simon Peter and other Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. After Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven less than 3 1/2 years after he was baptized, Simon Peter became a leader among the Israelite believers. Simon Peter stated the need for another apostle to be chosen, and spoke to crowds, and spoke a healing command in the name of Jesus. Simon Peter's faith became so widely recognized that people placed those who were sick upon mats and beds on the street so that Simon Peter's shadow would fall on them. Simon Peter and his fellow disciple and apostle John were put in custody, and Simon Peter, John and the other apostles were beaten. Simon Peter healed Aeneas in the name of Jesus and commanded Tabitha back to life. Simon Peter preached the good news of Christ Jesus to Gentiles, people not descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). During another time of imprisonment, Simon Peter soundly slept, even while knowing that he would probably be killed in the same manner that John's brother James was slain according to the command of King Herod Agrippa I.-Genesis 11:26-35:29, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-15:41, 1 Peter, 2 Peter
