Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. The Best of the Best

And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak unto the people concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness for to see? a reed shaken with the wind? But what went ye out for to see? A man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they which are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts. But what went ye out for to see? A prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet. This is he, of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he. And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves, being not baptized of him. And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like? They are like unto children sitting in the the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept. For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil. The Son of Man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold, a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners! But wisdom is justified of all her children.-Luke 7:24-35***John the Baptist was an Israelite from the tribe of Levi and the only child born to his elderly parents Zechariah (Zacharias) and Elizabeth (Elisabeth). The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that John the Baptist lived as a Nazirite (Nazarite), set apart unto God. John the Baptist lived some of his life in the wilderness and wore a garment made of camel's hair, and a leather belt around his waist. Over 1,400 years before John the Baptist was born to Zechariah and Elizabeth, the Israelites were living in the desert wilderness after being led away from Egyptian slavery and across the divinely parted Red Sea by Moses and his older brother Aaron. Moses and Aaron were from the tribe of Levi. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led his fellow Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Over 200 years after Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Samson, the Nazirite, judge, and warrior from the tribe of Danwas born, and Samuel, the priest, prophet,  judge, and Nazirite from the tribe of Levi, was born. Over 75 years after Samson died and Samuel died, Elijah, the prophet was born. Elijah had a hairy appearance and wore a leather belt. Over 800 years after Elijah went up into heaven by a whirlwind, Elizabeth was carrying John the Baptist in her womb. During the 6th month of pregnancy, Elizabeth received a visit from her relative Mary, a virgin pledged to wed Joseph the carpenter.  Before Mary visited Elizabeth, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb when Mary was a virgin. As Mary arrived at Elizabeth's home, Elizabeth heard Mary's voice, and John the Baptist leapt in Elizabeth's womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Months after John the Baptist was born to Zechariah and Elizabeth, Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, into the tribe of Judah, to Mary and her Joseph when Mary was a virgin. After Joseph, Mary and Jesus stayed in Egypt for a short while, they lived in Nazareth in Galilee. Inhabitants of Nazareth were called Nazarenes. Jesus was not a Nazirite, and was not under the dietary restrictions of a Nazirite.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 6:1-27, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-16:31, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings 1:1-2:12, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
