Esau was Isaac's favorite, and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite. After Jacob obeyed Rebekah, and deceived Isaac, and cheated Esau, and Rebekah learned that Esau planned to kill Jacob, she spoke to Isaac, and Isaac sent Jacob from their home in Canaan to Rebekah's family in Padan Aram, Haran.
