Let Me Go for Awhile or So

And Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept upon him, and kissed him. And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father: and the physicians embalmed Israel. And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those which are embalmed: and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten days. And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spake unto the house of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found grace in your eyes, speak, I pray you, in the ears of Pharaoh, saying, My father made me swear, saying, Lo, I die: in my grave which I have digged for me in the land of Canaan, there shalt thou bury me. Now therefore let me go up, I pray thee, and bury my father, and I will come again. And Pharaoh said, Go up, and bury thy father, according as he made thee swear.-Genesis 50:1-6***Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah were born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and maidservant Bilhah. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and maidservant Zilpah.  Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel. Rachel and Joseph were Jacob's favorites. When Joseph was at least 17 years old and living with his family in Canaan, his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official. The Lord God caused Potiphar to see Joseph favorably and trust Joseph with responsibilities. After Potiphar's wife made a false accusation, Potiphar put Joseph in the king's prison. The Lord God caused the prison warden to see Joseph favorably and trust Joseph with responsibilities. Less than 3 years after Joseph gave the interpretation and meaning of a dream to the cupbearer and the baker who worked for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, Joseph gave the interpretation and meaning of 2 dreams to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. Pharaoh proclaimed 30-year-old Joseph to be second-in-command in Egypt, and gave Joseph a different name, and arranged for Joseph to marry Asenath. Manasseh and Ephraim were born to Joseph and Asenath. During a famine, Jacob sent Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, and Zebulun to Egypt to buy grain. Joseph recognized his brothers, kept his identity from them, accused them of being spies, and placed them in custody for 3 days. Joseph commanded his brothers to bring Benjamin to Egypt and kept Simeon in Egypt while the other brothers returned to Canaan. The famine continued, and Jacob allowed his sons to take Benjamin with them to Egypt. After dining and speaking with his brothers and sending them away and having them brought back to him, Joseph identified himself to his brothers and told them to bring Jacob and their families to live in Egypt. When Pharaoh heard of Joseph's family, he instructed Joseph to tell them to gather their families, their father Jacob, and their animals, and settle in Egypt, with Pharaoh guaranteeing them the use of everything excellent in Egypt. Thus, 130-year-old Jacob moved with his family to Egypt and was able to have Joseph near him for 17 years. Moreover, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim to be his own sons, and made Joseph vow to bury his body in Canaan. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died, and Joseph and his siblings were dead, Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Over 1,400 years after Moses and his older brother Aaron, from the tribe of Levi, led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, in the desert wilderness, and through a 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 26:1-65, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Reference Scriptures:
And the time drew nigh that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I found grace in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me; bury me not, I pray thee, in Egypt: But I will lie with my fathers, and thou shalt carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their buryingplace. And he said, I will do as thou hast said. And he said, Swear unto me. And he sware unto him. And Israel bowed himself upon the bed's head.-Genesis 47:29-31
