From a letter written by Simon Peter
to believers everywhere:
Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.-2 Peter 1:13-21***When the Israelites were with Moses and his older brother Aaron in the desert wilderness of Sinai in the region of Mount Sinai, months after Moses and Aaron led them away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, they heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them. The Israelites were afraid and thought they would die. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. Over 400 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Rehoboam, the son born to King Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. During the reign of King Ahab, the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, Elijah the prophet presented a challenge upon Mount Carmel to his fellow Israelites and a group of false prophets. Over 800 years after Elijah went up into heaven by a whirlwind, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, the tribe of Solomon and all of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men, including Simon Peter, James and John, to follow him, and Jesus began to preach teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Simon Peter, James and John were the disciples and apostles most constantly with Jesus. Upon a mountain in Galilee, Simon Peter, James and John were with Jesus and saw Jesus speaking with Moses and Elijah. When Moses and Elijah were departing from Jesus, Simon Peter spoke to Jesus and suggested making a tabernacle for Jesus, and a tabernacle for Moses and a tabernacle for Elijah. While Simon Peter was speaking, a bright cloud was overshadowing Simon Peter, James and John. They were fearful entering into the cloud, and they heard the voice of the Lord God speaking to them. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Simon Peter became a leader among the Israelite believers, wrote at least 2 divinely inspired letters, and revealed information regarding his own tabernacle, the tent that was his body.
