...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

The Lord God Himself

Psalm 80 consists of 19 verses,
verses 1-7 are given below:

Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth. Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us. Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. O LORD God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people? Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure. Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves. Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.-Psalm 80:1-7***The Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his wives Leah and Rachel and maidservants Bilhah and Zilpah, and the 12 sons born to Jacob, his wives and maidservants. Abraham was a friend of God. Over 300 years after Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi was born, Moses was born into the tribe of Levi. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the  Lord God spoke to Moses face to face the way a man speaks to a friend, and the Lord God knew Moses face to face. When 120-year-old Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Jacob and Rachel's firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Before and after Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, the Israelites, including those in the tribe of Ephraim, and the tribe of Benjamin, and the tribe of Manasseh, were continually faithless
and idolatrous and aware of the anger of the Lord God. Over 300 years after Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, David was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Over a decade after David was born, Samuel, the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi, anointed David to reign as king, according to the command of the Lord God. When David was 30 years old, he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. When David was 37 years old, he became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. David was a man after God's own heart.   Moses, David, Asaph and other psalmists and prophets would appeal to the Lord God on behalf of the Israelites. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 12:1-16:50, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 9:1-13:18, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Psalm 106, Isaiah 41:1-29, Ezekiel 20:1-49, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 13:1-52, James 2:1-26
