Just Obedience

And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt. And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt. So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.-Exodus 9:22-26***Before the Lord God created Adam, the 1st man, the Lord God created the heavens and the earth, and the Lord God commanded that there be light, and commanded that there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and commanded that the waters be gathered together, and commanded that the earth bring forth vegetation, and commanded that lights be in the expanse of the heavens, and commanded that the waters abound with living creatures and birds fly above the earth. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. Seth was born to Adam and Eve. Seth's great-great-great-grandson Enoch was the great-grandfather of Noah. The Lord God spoke to Noah about mankind, and violence, and the destruction to occur, and a flood of waters the Lord God was going to bring on the earth, and Noah built an ark according to the command of the Lord God. Shem was born to Noah, and Arphaxad was born to Shem. Terah was Arphaxad's great-great-great-great-great-grandson. Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai) were born to Terah. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Fraternal twin son Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was Esau's favorite and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite. After Jacob obeyed Rebekah, and deceived Isaac and cheated Esau, and Rebekah learned that Esau planned to kill Jacob, she spoke words to Isaac that led Isaac to send Jacob from their home in Canaan to Rebekah's family in Padan Aram, Haran. In Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel, and Jacob and Rachel were Jacob's favorites. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying to Canaan with his family. In Canaan, Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. When Joseph was at least 17 years old, his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official. After Potiphar's wife made a false accusation, Potiphar put Joseph in prison. At least 2 years after Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to the imprisoned cupbearer who served Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh's imprisoned baker, 30-year-old Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph second-in-command. During a famine, Jacob sent his sons to Egypt to buy corn (grain). After the 2nd time that Joseph's brothers were in Egypt, Joseph identified himself to his brothers and told them to move to Egypt with their families, including Jacob, and settle in Goshen. Moreover, Pharaoh expressed his generosity and hospitality. During the journey to Egypt, the Lord God spoke to 130-year-old Jacob. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family, accompanied by Egyptians, buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. However, Moses lived as the son of the daughter of Pharaoh. When Moses was 40 years old, he killed an Egyptian and hid the body, and Pharaoh wanted to kill Moses. Moses bolted from Egypt, and began living in Midian, and was married to Zipporah, and worked for Zipporah's father Jethro (Reuel). When Moses was 80 years old and herding Jethro's flock near Mount Horeb (Sinai), the Angel of the Lord appeared to Moses, and Moses went to see the fiery sight. The Lord God spoke to Moses, and Moses spoke to the Lord God, and the Lord answered Moses, and showed Moses signs that involved the rod Moses was holding. The Lord  God gave Moses commands, and the Lord God told Moses the consequences to proclaim to Pharaoh, and the Lord God sent Moses 83-year-old Aaron to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. Moses and Aaron obeyed the Lord God, and the Israelites believed. Pharaoh did not believe, and did not allow the Israelites to go into the desert wilderness to sacrifice to the Lord God and hold a feast to the Lord God, according to the will of the Lord God. Moreover, Pharaoh commanded the overseers and foremen to make the work of the Israelites harder. Moses and Aaron continued to obey the commands of the Lord God, and Aaron used his rod in the 1st plague, bloody water, and the 2nd plague, frogs, and the 3rd plague, lice. The Lord God kept Goshen free from the 4th plague, flies, and the Lord God kept the livestock owned by the Israelites free from the pestilence plague that killed the livestock owned by the Egyptians. The 6th plague, boils, occurred upon the Egyptians and their animals throughout Egypt. The 7th plague, hail, did not occur in Goshen and did not occur among the Egyptians who chose to revere the word of the Lord God. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague, death, upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get the Israelites and their animals and go serve the Lord God. Notably, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to bless him. After the Israelites asked for and received a vast amount of valuable goods, fulfilling the words that the Lord God spoke to Abraham over 600 years earlier, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur.  During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elizabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was  a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. When Jesus and his disciples were upon a boat, and a violently windy storm arose while Jesus was asleep, the disciples woke Jesus, and Jesus rebuked the wind, and spoke a command to the sea, and the wind ceased, and all was calm.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 13:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 26:1-27:23, Deuteronomy 31:1-34:12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-9:44, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26

Why, Oh, Why

Jesus the Christ, the Son of God,

and his disciples

And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!-Matthew 8:23-27

And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and the water, and they obey him.-Luke 8:22-25

From the Epistle of James, in the

From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.-James 4:1-3

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Saying Nothing

Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him. And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven. So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.-Job 2:11-13***When Job was in the midst of suffering, and Job, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar began to talk, Job said:

-I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all.-Job 16:2...My friends scorn me: but mine eye poureth out tears unto God.-Job 16:20

-He that speaketh flattery to his friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.-Job 17:5

-My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.-Job 19:14...All my inward friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.-Job 19:19...Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.-Job 19:21

Job, when Job was in the midst of suffering:

And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.-Job 42:7-8

So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job. And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.-Job 42:9-10
