We Don't Even Know

And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders, And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things? And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things. The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me. And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him? But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed. And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.-Mark 11:27-33***In Egypt, 80-year-old Moses and his 83-year-old brother Aaron went to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, according to the command of the Lord God. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests, and the Lord God gave Moses commands for anointing Aaron and Aaron's sons, and described the garments and sacred items that the Israelites were to make for the priests and the high priest. Aaron was the 1st high priest. Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar were the sons born to Aaron and his wife Elisheba. Shortly after Aaron and his sons were anointed, Nadab and Abihu offered profane fire to the Lord God, and fire went out from the Lord God and devoured Nadab and Abihu, and Nadab and Abihu died. During the 40th year of the journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Moses, Aaron, and Eleazer went upon Mount Hor, and 123-year-old Aaron died, and Eleazar became the high priest. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. After 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Israelites were led by elders, judges, and their own minds. Samuel the priest, prophet and judge was from the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi, the birth tribe of Aaron and Moses. When Samuel was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them, and Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Jacob's 12th and last son Benjamin, to reign, according to the command of the Lord God. David, from the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites. Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Scribes worked under the authority of the king. Less than 200 years after Jeroboam's son Nadab became the 2nd king to rule the northern nation of Israel, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Less than 140 years after Samaria was conquered, Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Zedekiah (Mattaniah) became the 19th king to rule Judah. During the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites, including the leaders of the priests. Zedekiah, and Zedekiah's sons, and Seraiah the chief priest were among the Israelites taken to Riblah, in Hamath, Syria. The Babylonians killed Zedekiah's sons and Seraiah, and removed Zedekiah's eyesight. Less than 70 years after Jerusalem was conquered, Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem. Eliashib was the high priest, and over 400 years thereafter, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to elderly Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his elderly wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Annas was the high priest and his son-in-law Caiaphas became the high priest, and there were many chief priests and scribes. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the elders and scribes and chief priests who heard of Jesus did not believe Jesus to be the Christ and wanted to kill Jesus. The chief priests were involved with Judas Iscariot, the disciple and apostle who betrayed Jesus, and the chief priests, elders and scribes were involved with the arrest and crucifixion of Jesus. Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus the Pharisee prepared the body of Jesus for burial and placed the prepared body of Jesus in a tomb. On the 3rd day, Jesus was resurrected. Jesus appeared to over 500 people, and on the 40th day, Jesus returned to heaven. John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.-Mark 1:4...And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.-Mark 1:7-8

Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;-Luke 3:2-3...John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:-Luke 3:16

Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.-Luke 7:22...For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.-Luke 7:28

And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders, And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?-Luke 20:1-2

And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?-John 1:19...John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.-John 1:26-27
