...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Otherwise, They'll Say "Here's Why"

And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them? I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they. And Moses said unto the LORD, Then the Egyptians shall hear it, (for thou broughtest up this people in thy might from among them;) And they will tell it to the inhabitants of this land: for they have heard that thou LORD art among this people, that thou LORD art seen face to face, and that thy cloud standeth over them, and that thou goest before them, by day time in a pillar of a cloud, and in a pillar of fire by night. Now if thou shalt kill all this people as as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of thee will speak, saying, Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.-Numbers 14:11-16***The Israelites knew that the Lord God spoke to their ancestor Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and told Abraham to depart from his country and kin in Ur, in southern Mesopotamia, and come into the land he would be shown. The Israelites knew that the Lord God promised to give Canaan, a land inhabited by idolaters, to Abraham's descendants and Abraham. The Israelites knew that the Lord God told Abraham that a son would be born to Abraham and his wife Sarah (Sarai). The Israelites knew that when Abraham was 100 years old, Isaac was born to Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. The Israelites knew that Isaac married Rebekah,  Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. The Israelites knew that in the 20th year of the marriage, fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. The Israelites knew that Jacob married Rebekah's nieces Leah and Rachel. Moreover, the Israelites knew that Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah, and Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant, and Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant, and Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and Rachel. The Israelites knew that when Joseph was at least 17 years old, his brothers sold Joseph to merchants traveling to Egypt, and the merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an official of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. The Israelites knew that after Potiphar's wife made a false accusation against Joseph, Potiphar put Joseph in the king's prison. Moreover, the Israelites knew that sometime after Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to the imprisoned baker and the imprisoned butler who served Pharaoh, Joseph explained the meaning of 2 dreams to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph to be second-in-command in Egypt. The Israelites knew that after Joseph's brothers journeyed from Canaan to Egypt a 2nd time during a famine, Joseph revealed his identity to his brothers and told them to bring their families, including Jacob, to live in Egypt. The Israelites knew that sometime after after Jacob died in Egypt and his body was buried in Canaan, and after Joseph and his siblings were dead, the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. The Israelites believed Moses when he said that the Lord God told him to lead them away from Egypt, and the Israelites watched as the Lord God sent 10 plagues throughout Egypt. The Israelites saw that they were guided by a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, and the Israelites watched as the Lord God parted the Red Sea so that they could walk across on dry land. The Israelites heard themselves crave food and water in the desert wilderness, and taste sweet water that was previously bitter, and watched the Lord God send quail and manna for them to eat, and provide water from a rock for them to drink. The Israelites experienced victory in battle, and saw the glory of the Lord God. The Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God when the Lord God spoke to Moses and when the Lord God proclaimed the Ten Commandments to them. The Israelites saw the Lord God continue to lead them even after they worshiped a golden calf, and the Israelites watched themselves make a transportable tabernacle and all of its sacred items using the gold, silver, gems, and fabrics given to them by the Egyptians. Each time the Israelites saw Moses go to the tent of meeting wherein the Lord God spoke to Moses face to face, the Israelites stood and worshiped. Yet, despite all the Israelites knew, saw and heard, and although the Israelites witnessed the consequence of previous complainers, the Israelites complained again, and even wanted to cause a deadly pelting with stones instead of continuing towards Canaan, the Promised Land. In the 40th year of the journey, Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 9:1-14:45, 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 1:1-10:22, 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4
