Visiting, Perchance, in Peace

So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. And Ahaziah king of Judah was come down to see Joram. And there stood a watchman on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company. And Joram said, Take an horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace? So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu said, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, The messenger came to them, but he cometh not again. Then he sent out a second on horseback, which came to them, and said, Thus saith the king, Is it peace? And Jehu answered, What hast thou to do with peace? turn thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying, He came even unto them, and cometh not again: and the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he driveth furiously. And Joram said, Make ready. And his chariot was made ready. And Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out against Jehu, and met him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite. And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many? And Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, There is treachery, O Ahaziah. And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot. Then said Jehu to Bidkar his captain, Take up, and cast him in the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite: for remember how that, when I and thou rode together after Ahab his father, the LORD laid this burden upon him; Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, saith the LORD; and I will requite thee in this plat, saith the LORD. Now therefore take and cast him into the plat of ground, according to the word of the LORD. But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. And Jehu followed after him, and said, Smite him also in the chariot. And they did so at the going up to Gur, which is by Ibleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and died there. And his servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his sepulchre with his fathers in the city of David.-2 Kings 9:16-28***Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel. Before 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, he made Joseph swear to bury his body in Canaan, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Jacob, and to Jacob's father Isaac, and to Isaac's father Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to their descendants. Aaron and his younger brother Moses were born into the tribe of Levi, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. After the Lord God sent Moses and Aaron to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and after the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, 123-year-old Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and 120-year-old Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land. After 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Israelites were led by elders, judges or their own minds. When Samuel the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah were wicked, and King Nahash and his fellow Ammonites were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them. Samuel prayed to the Lord God and proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites. Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, to reign as king, according to the command of the Lord God. Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. The Lord rejected Saul and sent Samuel to anoint David, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, to reign as king. David served as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul, and killed Goliath the gigantic Philistine, and entered in a covenant with Jonathan, Saul's son, and married Saul's daughter Michal, and lived on the run from Saul. After Saul's self-inflicted death on the battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David, and David began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) reigned over the other Israelite tribes. After Ishbosheth was murdered, the elders went to David and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed David and 37 1/2-year-old David became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Solomon, the 2nd son born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam was the 1st king to reign. King Ahab was the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Jezebel was Ahab's wife. Ahab and Jezebel's son Joram (Jehoram) was the 9th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. Rehoboam's great-grandson Jehoshaphat was the 4th king to rule Judah. Jehoshaphat's son Joram (Jehoram) was the 5th king to rule Judah. Jehoshaphat's son Joram married Ahab's daughter Athaliah. Joram and Athaliah's son Ahaziah was the 6th king to rule Judah. Joram and Ahaziah fought together against the Arameans (Syrians). After Joram was wounded, Joram went to Jezreel to heal, and Ahaziah went to Jezreel to visit Joram. Meanwhile, a prophet of the Lord God anointed Jehu to rule as king over the northern nation of Israel, according to the command of the Lord God. Jehu went on a mission to put an end to all of Ahab's survivors. When Joram and Ahaziah were headed towards Jehu, Jehu's arrow ended Joram's life. Ahaziah was seriously wounded, yet escaped and later died. Ahaziah's grandfather Jehoshaphat was a faithful worshiper of the Lord God. Thus, Ahaziah's servants traveled to the northern nation of Israel to retrieve Ahaziah's body. Ahaziah's mother Athaliah began to rule Judah and was the only woman and the only person not descended from David to rule Judah. Over 800 years after Ahaziah's son Joash became the 7th king to rule Judah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
