...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.(KJV) In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

Understand, Man

The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven. He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowering. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there Shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread. Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread. Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? Do ye not understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should be aware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.-Matthew 16:1-12***Before the Lord God gave Moses commands about leaven, and brought the 10th and final plague upon Egypt and Pharaoh, the ruler of Egypt, there were no Pharisees or Sadducees among the Israelites. During the 40 years that Moses and his older brother Aaron led their fellow Israelites through the desert wilderness after leading them away from Egyptian slavery and across the divinely parted Red Sea, there were no Pharisees or Sadducees. When Joshua, Moses' successor, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the Promised Land, there were no Pharisees or Sadducees, and when the Israelites lived under the leadership of judges and under the reign of King Saul, the 1st king to rule over the Israelites in the Promised Land, there were no Pharisees or Sadducees. During the reign of King David, the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites, there were no Pharisees or Sadducees, and during the reign of King Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba,  there were no Pharisees or Sadducees, and during the reign of King Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, there were no Pharisees or Sadducees. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city, and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city, and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. During the reign of any king who ruled the northern nation of Israel before the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and conquered Samaria, there were not Pharisees or Sadducees, and there were no Pharisees or Sadducees when the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and conquered Jerusalem. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that both kingdoms were conquered according to the will of the Lord, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of David, Solomon and all of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi, the birth tribe of Aaron and Moses. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Before Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, and after Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven less than 3 1/2 years after he was baptized, the Roman Empire was ruling the land whereupon the kingdoms of the Israelites previously stood. Meanwhile, the Pharisees and Sadducees were recognizable and renown among the Israelites. The Pharisees viewed themselves as strict adherers to the laws that the Lord God gave Moses for the Israelites. Moreover, the Pharisees followed the traditions passed down by the Israelite elders, and acknowledged their belief in resurrection, angels, and spirit. The Sadducees did not believe in resurrection, angels or spirit.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Jonah, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 23:1-35
