Some Explaining

And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake. Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God. And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council, And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us. And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel. Then said the high priest, Are these things so? And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,-Acts 6:8-7:2***When Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot, the disciple
and apostle, and Jesus was arrestedcrucified, buried in tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Sometime thereafter, Matthias was chosen, according to the will of the Lord God, to join the 11 apostles who had walked with Jesus. When an issue arose regarding 2 separate groups of Israelite widows, the 12 apostles needed honest men filled with the Spirit of God and wisdom to attend to the ministry that distributed food to the widows. Stephen was full of faith, power and the Holy Spirit, and was among the 7 men selected. However, Stephen's words were criticized by several different sects among the Israelites. Liars were brought in to testify against Stephen, and Stephen was brought before the Sanhedrin council, which included the chief priests, elders and scribes. Stephen responded to the accusations by giving a brief history of the Israelites and the betrayal and murder of Jesus the Christ.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-8:4
