Do the Do's

From a letter written by the apostle Paul

 to Timothy:

Let not man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.-1 Timothy 4:12-16***Joseph, Joshua, Samuel, King David, King Uzziah (Azariah), King Jotham, King Josiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego), John the Baptist,  and Timothy (Timotheus) were Israelites, descendants of Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac and Rebekah's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel). They were purposefully knowledgeable of the word of the Lord God, even during their younger years. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Joseph was Jacob's favorite son. Joshua was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Samuel the priest, prophet and judge was from the the tribe of Levi, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Levi's 3rd born son Levi. David was from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Over a decade after David was born, Samuel anointed David to reign as king in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. When David was 30 years old, he began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. When David was 37 1/2 years old, he became the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. King Pekah was the 18th king to reign over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's 20-year reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites to Assyria. During the reign of King Hoshea, the 19th king to rule the northern nation, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Uzziah was the 9th king to rule Judah. Uzziah's son Jotham was the 10th king to reign. Jotham's great-great-great-grandson Josiah was the 15th king to rule Judah. Jehoiakim (Eliakim), the son born to Josiah and Zebudah, was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, was the 18th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, to Babylon. Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the son born to Josiah and Hamutal, was the 19th king to rule Judah. During the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Shortly thereafter, a group of Israelites took Jeremiah, a prophet of the Lord, to Egypt with them. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Months after John the Baptist was born, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary, a virgin, and her husband Joseph after being conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb when Mary was a virgin. On the 8th day after John the Baptist was born, he was circumcised, and on the 8th day after Jesus the Christ, was born, Jesus was circumcised, according to the covenant of circumcision that the Lord God gave Abraham when Abraham was 99 years old. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Before John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, and after John the Baptist was imprisoned and beheaded, and Jesus was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven less than 3 1/2 after being baptized, the Roman Empire was ruling the land whereupon the kingdoms of the Israelites previously stood. Paul (Saul) was from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin.  Paul did not believe Jesus to be the Christ. Throughout Jerusalem, Paul persecuted and imprisoned Israelite believers. When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus, and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, revelations of Christ Jesus, sin, and eternal life. In Lystra, Paul met Timothy. Eunice and Lois, Timothy's mother and grandmother, worshiped the Lord God, and Timothy was raised knowing the word of God. Eunice, an Israelite, believed Jesus to be the Christ of God. Timothy's father was a Gentile, a person not born into the Israelite tribes, and Timothy was not circumcised.
