Proverbs Chapter 13

1.A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

2.A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.

3.He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

4.The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

5.A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

6.Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way: but wickedness overthroweth the sinner.

7.There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches.

8.The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke.

9.The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.

10.Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

11.Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

12.Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

13.Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.

14.The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

15.Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.
                                      
16.Every prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool layeth open his folly.

17.A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.

18.Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.
                                       
19.The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from evil.

20.He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

21.Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.

23.Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.

And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.  Reference Information: 

Before the Israelites began living under the rulership of kings in the Promised Land, the Edomites were living under the rulership of kings. The Edomites descended from Esau (Edom), the older fraternal twin brother of Jacob (Israel). Esau and Jacob were the only children born to Isaac and Rebekah, and Isaac was the only child born to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai). The Lord God gave Canaan, land inhabited by idolaters, to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants, and the Lord God gave Mount Seir to the Edomites. In the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible, the land inhabited by Edomites is also identified as Idumea (Idumaea). Bozrah and Teman were principal cities inhabited by Edomites. Over 400 years after Obadiah the prophet revealed a message about the Edomites and the rejoicing the Edomites exhibited when the Babylonians (Chaldeans) conquered Jerusalem and took more Israelites captive, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. Hear Ye, Hear Ye

A message the Lord God 

revealed to Isaiah the prophet:

Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it. For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter. Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood. And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree. For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment. The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea. It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and maidservant Bilhah. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and maidservant Zilpah. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. Approximately 1,900 years after Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died, the angel Gabriel appeared to elderly, childless Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and told Zechariah that his prayer was heard, and told him about the conception, birth and purpose of the son who would be born to Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). The angel Gabriel told Zechariah to name the child John, and said the birth of John was going to cause rejoicing and gladness, and John would be great in the eyes of the Lord, and would be filled with the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) while in Elizabeth's womb, and would bring many Israelites back to the Lord, and prepare people for the Lord. During the 6th month that elderly Elizabeth was carrying John the Baptist in her womb, the Lord God sent the angel Gabriel to Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin. The angel Gabriel said Mary was favored with grace, and the Lord was with Mary, and Mary was blessed among women. The angel Gabriel told Mary not to fear, and said Mary had favor with the Lord God, and Mary would give birth to a Son, and Mary was to name the Son Jesus, and Jesus, the Son of the Highest (the Most High), would be conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb. Joseph was the craftsman pledged to wed Mary. After Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb when Mary was a virgin, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph when Mary was asleep and told Joseph, in a dream, not to be afraid to receive Mary as his wife, and explained that the child in Mary's womb was conceived of the Holy Spirit, and Joseph was to name the Son Jesus, and Jesus will save his people from their sins. Months after John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah and Elizabeth, Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God, was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. On the 8th day after John the Baptist was born, he was circumcised, and on the 8th day after Jesus the Christ was born, Jesus was circumcised, according to the covenant of circumcision that the Lord God gave Abraham.  Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Paul was a Pharisee and did not believe Jesus to be the Christ. Throughout Jerusalem, Paul persecuted and imprisoned Israelites who believed Jesus to be the Christ of God. When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria, to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, the good news of Jesus the Christ and everlasting life. Among David's mighty warriors were: 

Asahel: David's nephew, the son born to David's sister Zeruiah.

 
Sibbecai (Sibbechai/Mebunnai): he killed Saph (Sippai) the gigantic Philistine. Years earlier, David killed and beheaded Goliath, a gigantic Philistine from Gath.

Ilai: a relative of Eleazar the Ahohite. Eleazar fought the Philistines so relentlessly that Eleazar's hand clung to his sword.

Hezro: from Carmel. Abigail stayed with her husband Nabal in Carmel before Nabal died and Abigail became David's wife.

Zelek: an Ammonite, descended from Lot and Lot's youngest daughter and their son Ben-ammi. Lot was the nephew of Abraham and Sarah (Sarai).

Naharai: the armor-bearer for Joab. Joab was Asahel's brother and David's nephew and army commander.

Uriah: a Hittite, descended from Noah the ark builder, Noah's son Ham, Ham's son Canaan, and Canaan's son Heth. David purposefully sent Uriah away to be killed after David's intimacy with Uriah's wife Bathsheba resulted in Bathsheba becoming pregnant.

Ithmah: a Moabite descended from Lot and Lot's oldest daughter and their son Moab. 

Obed: a man with the same name as David's grandfather Obed. David's grandfather Obed was born to Boaz and Ruth. Ruth was a Moabite. Boaz was an Israelite from the tribe of Judah, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah. Over 900 years after Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose damsel is this? And the servant that was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish damsel that came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab: And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house. Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens: Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn. Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger? So she gleaned in the field until even, and beat out that she had gleaned: and it was about an ephah of barley. And she took it up, and went into the city: and her mother in law saw what she had gleaned: and she brought forth, and gave to her that she had reserved after she was sufficed. And her mother in law said unto her, Where hast thou gleaned to day? and where wroughtest thou? blessed be he that did take knowledge of thee. And she shewed her mother in law with whom she had wrought, and said, The man's name with whom I wrought to day is Boaz.
