Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Holy Scriptures have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Sum Total

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when thou numberest them. This they shall give, every one that passeth among them that are numbered, half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary: (a shekel is twenty gerahs:) an half shekel shall be the offering of the LORD. Every one that passeth among them that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give an offering unto the LORD. The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give an offering unto the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls. And thou shalt take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a  memorial unto the children of Israel before the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.-Exodus 30:11-16***When Moses was upon Mount Sinai with the Lord God for 40 days and nights, the Lord God gave Moses commands for the offering of items the Israelites were to willingly bring. The Lord God described to Moses and showed him the likeness for the tabernacle, the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and other sacred items that the Israelites were to make. The Lord God told Moses that Moses' brother Aaron and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to be the only priestsAaron was the 1st high priest. Months earlier, Moses and Aaron led their fellow Israelites away from Egyptian slavery, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the dessert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land123-year-old Aaron died and was buried upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' successor, was an Israelite from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own son. Moses and Aaron were from the tribe of Levi, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. Over 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Saul, from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, became the 1st king to reign over the Israelites. David, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, was the 2nd king to reign over all of the Israelites. After David brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-edom, and the ark was placed in a specific tent in the City of David, David wanted to build a house unto the name of the Lord. The Lord God gave Nathan the prophet a message for David regarding the house and David's descendants. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to reign over all of the Israelites. During the 4th year of Solomon's reign, Solomon began building the temple of the Lord. In the 11th year, Solomon's workers finished building the temple in Jerusalem, and all of the sacred items, including the ark of the covenant of the Lord, were properly placed inside. From thenceforward, the duties that were previously performed at the transportable tabernacle were performed at the temple. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to reign over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Israel was the nation in the north, Samaria was the final royal city, and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Rehoboam's great-great-great-grandson Ahaziah was the 6th king to rule Judah. After Ahaziah was fatally wounded and died, his mother Athaliah ruled Judah for 6 years before Jehoiada the priest presented Ahaziah's son Joash (Jehoash) as king. The temple of the Lord and many sacred items were purposefully damaged during Athaliah's reign. Joash gave commands to the priests and their assistants regarding the money to be gathered from the Israelites. Moreover, Joash questioned Jehoiada the priest while making mention of Moses and the collection, and Joash commanded that a chest be made wherein the Israelites could drop the required monetary offerings. Over 700 years after Amaziah, the son born to Joash and Jehoaddan, became the 8th king to rule Judah, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted for 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men, including Simon Peter, to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Jesus told his 12 disciples that he came to give his life as a ransom for many, In Capernaum in Galilee, a group questioned Simon Peter about Jesus and didrachmas. The didrachmas were the 2 drachmae or double drachma tribute money that was required to be voluntarily given by Israelite men for service at the temple. The drachma was a Greek silver coin, the equivalent of approximately 1/2 a shekel.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-34, 2:1-17, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26
