...................................................................LET US LEARN TOGETHER WHAT IS GOOD. Job 34:4b(NIV)................................................................Some people see the Bible as a long and boring book filled with incidents and events from the lives of ancient people who probably never existed. The biblical stories are seen as fables. Notably, Romans 15:4 (KJV) reveals: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. In this blog, many of the situations and conversations found in the divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible have been placed in categories that correspond to expressive sayings and phrases. Reference information, background information and links connecting the people and places are given to help you find a place to begin reading the Bible for yourself.

The Lord God Said, and the Edomites Said

A message the Lord God
revealed to Malachi the prophet

The burden of the word of the LORD to Israel by Malachi. I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever. And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, The LORD will be magnified from the border of Israel.-Malachi 1:1-5***Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and 90-year-old Sarah (Sarai). Abraham and Sarah were born to Terah. Terah was the great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Arphaxad. Arphaxad was born to Shem. Shem was born to Noah the ark builder. Noah was the great-grandson of Enoch. Enoch was the great-great-great-grandson of Seth. Seth was born to Adam and Eve. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Adam was the 1st man. The Lord God created Adam. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. The Lord God promised to give Canaan, land inhabited by idolaters, to Abraham's descendants and Abraham, and to Isaac and Isaac's descendants, and to Jacob and Jacob's descendants. Abraham was wealthy, Isaac was wealthy, Esau was wealthy, and Jacob was wealthy. However, before Esau and Jacob possessed their own wealth, Jacob deceived Isaac and cheated Esau. Notably, Esau's descendants the Edomites dispossessed the Horim from Mount Seir, according to the will of the Lord God, and the Lord God gave Mount Seir to the Edomites. Teman and Bozrah were principal cities among the Edomites, and the Edomites lived under the rule of kings. When Jacob was 130 years old, he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt, the country wherein Joseph, the 1st son born to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, was second-in-command. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were Israelites from the tribe of Levi, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, according to the commands of the Lord God. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants. Over 300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Samuel the priest, prophet and judge was born into the tribe of Levi. When Samuel was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them. Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, to reign, according to the command of the Lord God. David, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Less than 200 years after Jeroboam's son Nadab became the 2nd king to rule the northern nation of Israel, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Less than 125 years after Samaria was conquered, Rehoboam's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim) became the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, was the 18th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. During the 11th year of the reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. The Babylonians burned the temple and other buildings, and captured Zedekiah and his sons, and killed Zedekiah's sons and other Israelites. Amid the destruction, the Edomites were watching, rejoicing, speaking boastfully, looting, cutting off Israelites trying to escape, and capturing and turning in Israelite survivors. Malachi was an Israelite and a prophet of the Lord God. Sometime after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Malachi proclaimed the words of the Lord God to the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. At least 500 years after the Israelites built another temple in Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:23, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel 1:1-3:21, 8:1-31:13, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-2:55, 3:1-24, 8:1-40, 9:35-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Jeremiah 49:7-22, Obadiah, Malachi, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, Romans 9:1-33

And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served others gods. And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac. And I gave unto Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave unto Esau mount Seir, to possess it; but Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.-Joshua 24:2-4...And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you.-Joshua 24:8

Concerning Edom, thus saith the LORD of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? is counsel perished from the prudent? is their wisdom vanished? Flee ye turn back, dwell deep, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau upon him, the time that I will visit him.-Jeremiah 49:7-8...Thy terribleness hath deceived thee, and the pride of thine heart, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, that holdest the height of the hill: though thou shouldest make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring thee down from thence, saith the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them; Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword. Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, set thy face again mount Seir, and prophesy against it, And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate. I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. Believe You Me

From a letter written by the apostle Paul
to believers in Rome:

I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, in Isaac shall thy seed be called. That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. For this is the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son. And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by our father Isaac; (For the children being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid. For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.-Romans 9:1-16***Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was 75 years old and his wife Sarah (Sarai) was 65, and they were childless, when the Lord God appeared to Abraham and promised to give Canaan, a land inhabited by idolaters, to Abraham's descendants and Abraham. Abraham and Sarah were childless when the Lord God told Abraham to look at the land in every direction, and said that he would make Abraham have an innumerable number of descendants. Abraham and Sarah were childless when the word of the Lord God came to Abraham in a vision and Abraham spoke about being childless and spoke of his servant Eliezer. The Lord God promised Abraham that a son would be born to Abraham, and promised that Abraham would have an innumerable number of descendants. Abraham believed in the Lord God, and the Lord God accounted it to Abraham for righteousness. After Abraham questioned the Lord God, and Abraham was in a deep sleep, the Lord God told Abraham that Abraham's descendants would undergo 400 years of affliction in a foreign land before departing from the land with a vast amount of valuable goods and living in Canaan, and the Lord God made a covenant with Abraham. Ishmael was born to 86-year-old Abraham and Hagar, according Sarah's maidservant. Before Ishmael was born, the angel of the Lord spoke the words of the Lord God to Hagar and told Hagar to name the son Ishmael. When Abraham was 99 years old, the Lord God appeared to Abraham, and identified himself to Abraham. The Lord God gave Abraham a command, and gave Abraham and Sarah new names. The Lord God said he had made Abraham a father of many nations, and the Lord God promised to make Abraham exceedingly fruitful. The Lord God spoke of the nations and kings to come out from Abraham, and spoke of the everlasting covenant between the Lord God and Abraham and Abraham's descendants, and the everlasting possession of Canaan, and the Lord God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. The Lord God promised to bless Sarah, and the Lord God promised that a son would be born to Abraham and Sarah, and Sarah would be a mother of nations, and kings of people would come from Sarah. Abraham laughed, and spoke in his heart, and questioned the Lord God, and spoke of Ishmael to the Lord God. The Lord God spoke of Ishmael being blessed, fruitful, multiplied, bearing 12 princes, and being a great nation. The Lord God told Abraham that the son born to Abraham and Sarah must be named Isaac, and said that he would establish his covenant with Isaac. The Lord God spoke of his everlasting covenant and Isaac's descendants, and said Isaac would be born at the specified time the following year. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. Isaac was born through the promise, and Ishmael was born according to flesh. After Isaac was weaned, Abraham sent Hagar and Ishmael away, according to Sarah's insistence and with assurance from the Lord God. The angel of the Lord spoke to Hagar and proclaimed, from heaven, the promises of the Lord God regarding Ishmael. Years thereafter, the Lord God tested Abraham and commanded Abraham to take Isaac to a specified place in Moriah and offer Isaac as a burnt offering. In Moriah, when Isaac was upon the altar, the angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven and proclaimed the words of the Lord God to Abraham 2 separate times. Three years after 127-year-old Sarah died, 40-year-old Isaac was married to Rebekah (Rebecca), Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah were born to Abraham and Keturah, his 2nd wife. Before 175-year-old Abraham died, he gave his wealth and possessions to Isaac, and gave gifts to his other sons and sent them eastward, away from Isaac. The Lord God appeared to Isaac and promised to be with Isaac, and bless Isaac, and give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. The Lord God promised to confirm the oath he swore to Abraham, and the Lord God promised to multiply Issac's descendants, and the Lord God said that in Isaac's descendants all nations shall be blessed. Similarly, over 100 years earlier, before Abraham and Sarah began living in Canaan, the Lord God promised to make Abraham a great nation, and promised to bless Abraham, and make Abraham's name great, and promised that Abraham shall be a blessing, and all families shall be blessed in Abraham. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Esau and Jacob struggled together while they were in Rebekah's womb, and Rebekah went to seek the Lord God, and the Lord God told Rebekah about the 2 nations in Rebekah's womb. Decades after Esau and Jacob were born, Jacob obeyed Rebekah and deceived Isaac and cheated Esau. After Rebekah learned that Esau planned to kill Jacob, she spoke words to Isaac that led him to send Jacob from their home in Canaan to Rebekah's family in Padan Aram, Haran. When Jacob was asleep and dreaming during his journey,  saw a divine sight and heard the Lord God speaking to him. The Lord God identified himself to Jacob, and promised to give Canaan to Jacob and to Jacob's descendants and promised that Jacob would have an innumerable number of descendants, and the Lord God promised that in Jacob and Jacob's descendants all families shall be blessed. The Lord God told Jacob that he is with Jacob and will bring Jacob back to Canaan and will not leave Jacob until he has done everything that he had spoken to Jacob. During Jacob's 7th year in Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying  to Canaan with his wives, maidservants, children, and possessions, and Jacob experienced a divine wrestling encounter, and Jacob's name was changed. Sometime thereafter, the Lord God appeared to Jacob, and blessed Jacob, and gave Jacob a command, and spoke to Jacob about the nations and kings that shall come from Jacob, and the Lord God spoke to Jacob about Canaan. In Canaan, near Bethlehem, Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. When Jacob was 130 years old, he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt, the country wherein Joseph was second-in-command. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron  led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes, and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. While the Israelites, and those with them, were still in the region of Mount Sinai, the Lord God spoke to Moses about the Levites, their duties and their relationship to the Lord God. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year old Aaron the high priest died. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and  successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants. Over 400 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Rehoboam, the son born to King Solomon and Naamah, and grandson of King David and Bathsheba, became the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. Less than 140 years after Samaria was conquered, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of David and his descendants, all of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500 people, and returned to heaven. Paul (Saul) was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin and did not believe Jesus to be the ChristThroughout Jerusalem, Paul persecuted and imprisoned  Israelites who believed Jesus to be the Christ of God. When Paul was journeying to the synagogues in Damascus, Syria, to find, bind and take to Jerusalem any Israelite believers he found, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus, and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus Paul was baptized. From thenceforward, Paul the apostle journeyed and wrote divinely inspired letters, teaching Israelites and Gentiles, people not born into the Israelite tribes, the good news of Jesus the Christ, and everlasting life, and the need to be saved, and the eternal life available to anyone who confesses with their mouth the Lord is Jesus and believes in their heart that the Lord God raised Jesus out from the dead.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers 20:1-29, 27:12-23, Deuteronomy 31:1-30, 32:44-52, 34:1-12, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 23:1-24:33, Judges 1:1-2:23, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, 1 Kings, 2 Kings, 1 Chronicles 1:1-2:55, 3:1-24, 6:1-81, 7:20-29, 10:1-29:30, 2 Chronicles, Ezra, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4, 9:1-31, 11:19-28:31, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon

Roll Call

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them. And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel. And these were their names: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur. Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori. Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph. Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun. Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu. Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi. Of the tribe of Joseph, namely of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi. Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli. Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael. Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi. Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi. These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua. And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.-Numbers 13:1-20***Over 600 years before the Lord God told Moses to send spies to Canaan, the Promised Land, Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) was living in Ur in southern Mesopotamia. The Lord God appeared to Abraham and told Abraham to depart from his country and kin and come into the land he would be shown. Abraham journeyed from Ur to Haran, in northern Mesopotamia, with his wife Sarah (Sarai), their father Terah and nephew Lot. Sometime after 205-year-old Terah died in Haran, Abraham, Sarah and Lot journeyed with their servants and possessions to Canaan. The Lord God promised to give Canaan to Abraham's descendants and childless Abraham. Ishmael was born to 86-year-old Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Ishmael was born according to flesh. When Ishmael was in Hagar's womb, the angel of the Lord proclaimed the promises of the Lord God to Hagar regarding Ishmael. Abraham was 99 years old when the Lord God promised Abraham that Isaac would be born to Abraham and Sarah, and the Lord God told Abraham about his blessings for Ishmael, and the Lord God gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. Abraham circumcised 13-year-old Ishmael, and Abraham and every male in Abraham's household was immediately circumcised. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah. Decades thereafter, the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Isaac and Isaac's descendants. When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece.  Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Years after Esau and Jacob were born, Esau sold his birthright to Jacob. Moreover, Jacob obeyed Rebekah and deceived Isaac and cheated Esau. The Lord God gave Mount Seir to Esau, and the Lord God promised to give Canaan to Jacob and Jacob's descendants. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and Rachel. When Joseph was at least 17 years old, his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official. After Potiphar's wife made a false accusation, Potiphar put Joseph in prison. At least 2 years after Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to the imprisoned cupbearer who served Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh's imprisoned baker, 30-year-old Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph second-in-command. During a famine, Joseph sent 10 of his sons to Egypt to buy grain (corn). After the 2nd time that Joseph's brothers were in Egypt, Joseph identified himself to them and told his brothers to move to Egypt with their families, including Jacob. Moreover, Pharaoh expressed his hospitality and generosity. During the journey, the Lord God spoke to 130-year-old Jacob. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Lord God spoke to Moses about the tribe of Levi, and described the duties of the Levites and the specific relationship between the Lord God and the Levites. In the desert wilderness of Paran, no Israelite from the tribe of Levi was sent with the chosen spies. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Lord God commanded Moses to send spies to Canaan, and the Israelites wanted spies sent to Canaan. Joshua (Oshea/Hoshea) the spy, from the tribe of Ephraim, was Moses' aide and successor and led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants. Over 1,300 years after 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin.-Genesis 11:26-50:26, Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua 1:1-4:24, 1 Chronicles 1:1-8:40, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts 1:1-26, 6:1-8:4

These be the words which Moses spake unto all Israel on this side Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain over against the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.-Deuteronomy 1:1...And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the LORD our God doth give unto us. Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged. And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come. And the saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe:-Deuteronomy 1:20-23
