John the Baptist responds to his fellow Israelites:

Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying. And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him. John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven. Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him. He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.-John 3:25-36***Levi was the 3rd son born to Jacob (Israel) and his 1st wife Leah, and Judah was Jacob and Leah's 4th born son. Jacob was the youngest fraternal twin son born to Isaac and Rebekah. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and 90-year-old Sarah (Sarai). Abraham and Sarah were born to Terah. Terah was the great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Arphaxad. Arphaxad was born to Shem. Shem was born to Noah the ark builder. Noah was the great-grandson of Enoch. Enoch was the great-great-great-grandson of Seth. Seth was born to 130-year-old Adam and Eve. Adam was the 1st man. The Lord God created Adam. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Adam's wife Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. The Lord God blessed them, and gave them commands, and gave Adam commands about the trees in the Garden of Eden. Eve was deceived, and Adam listened to Eve and disobeyed the command of the Lord God. Sin entered into the world through Adam, and death entered through sin. At least 1,900 years after Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and his 2nd wife Rachel, and Rachel died, the angel Gabriel appeared to elderly Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and told him about the conception, birth and purpose of the son who would be born to Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth (Elizabeth). The angel Gabriel told Zechariah to name the child John, and said that the birth of John was going to cause rejoicing and gladness, and John would be great in the eyes of the Lord, and would be filled with the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) from birth, and would bring many Israelites back to the Lord, and prepare people for the Lord. During the 6th month that elderly Elizabeth was carrying John the Baptist in her womb, the Lord God sent the angel Gabriel to speak to Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin. The angel Gabriel explained that Mary would give birth to a Son, and Mary was to name the Son Jesus, and Jesus, the Son of the Highest (the Most High), would be conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb. Joseph was the craftsman pledged to wed Mary. After Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in Mary's womb when Mary was a virgin, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph when Joseph was asleep and dreaming and told Joseph not to be afraid to receive Mary as his wife, and explained that the child in Mary's womb was conceived of the Holy Spirit, and Joseph was to name the Son Jesus, and Jesus will save the people from their sins. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that after John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Levi to Zechariah and Elizabeth, Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and began to prophesy. Months thereafter, Jesus, the Christ, the Son of God, was born in Bethlehem into the tribe of  Judah to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. At the Jordan River, John the Baptist baptized people with water unto repentance, and spoke of the One who would baptize with the Holy Spirit and with fire, and proclaimed a baptism of repentance for forgiveness of sins, and baptized people while in the wilderness and on the other side of the Jordan River. When the Israelites sent priests and Levites to question him, John the Baptist told them that he was not the Christ, and he identified himself using the words revealed by Isaiah the prophet over 700 years earlier. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. And the king said unto the footmen that stood about him, Turn, and slay the priests of the LORD; because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled, and did not shew it to me. But the servants of the king would not put forth their hand to fall upon the priests of the LORD. And the king said to Doeg, Turn thou, and fall upon the priests. And Doeg the Edomite turned, upon the priests, and slew on that day fourscore and five persons that did wear a linen ephod. And Nob, the city of the priests, smote he with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and sucklings, and oxen, and asses, and sheep, with the edge of the sword. And one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped, and fled after David. And Abiathar shewed David that Saul had slain the LORD's priests. And David said unto Abiathar, I knew it that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul: I have occasioned the death of all the persons of thy father's house. Abide thou with me, fear not: for he that seeketh my life seeketh thy life: but with me thou shalt be in safeguard.-1 Samuel 22:16-23***Moses was 120 years old when he went upon Mount Nebo, and the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and Moses died, and was divinely buried. Joshua was Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim, whom Jacob proclaimed to be his own sons. After the Lord God spoke to him, Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. After 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Israelites were led by elders, judges and their own minds. Samuel the priest, prophet and judge was from the tribe  of Levi, Moses' birth tribe, descended from Jacob and his 1st wife Leah, and Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi. When Samuel was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them, and Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, to reign, according to the command of the Lord God. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. While Saul reigned, the Lord God sent Samuel to Bethlehem to anoint David, from the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 4th born son Judah, to reign as king. When Saul heard about David's skills, strength, appearance, and favor with the Lord God, Saul demanded that David's father Jesse send David to him, and David began serving as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul. Amid the Valley of Elah, David killed and beheaded Goliath the gigantic Philistine. David and Jonathan, Saul's son, made a covenant. The Israelite women sang of David higher than they sang of Saul, and Saul was angry. Saul wanted to kill David, and became afraid of David, and sent David on missions to get killed, and commanded others, including, Jonathan, to kill David. Saul's daughter Michal was married to David and helped David escape from their home. David went to Samuel, in Ramah, and Saul was informed. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that the Spirit of God came upon the messengers Saul sent to capture David, and Saul's messengers prophesied, and the next 2 groups of messengers Saul sent prophesied, and the Spirit of God came upon Saul when Saul arrived, and Saul prophesied and fell down in front of Samuel. Meanwhile, David went to Jonathan, and David and Jonathan made a plan, and Jonathan made a broader covenant. When Saul questioned Jonathan about David's absence at a feast, and Jonathan responded, Saul hurled a spear at Jonathan, and Jonathan went to David, and David went to Ahimelech the priest, in Nob. During David's years on the run, David was married to Abigail and Ahinoam, and Michal was married to Phalti (Palti/Phaltiel/Paltiel). After the Philistines killed Jonathan and his brothers Malchishua and Abinadab (Ishui?), and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David, and David began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) ruler over the other Israelite tribes. Sometime after Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David, and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed 37-year-old David, and David began to rule over all of the Israelites. Amnon was born to David and Ahinoam, Absalom was born to David and Maacah, Adonijah was born to David and Haggith, and Solomon was born to David and Bathsheba. Absalom had himself proclaimed king while David reigned. Abiathar remained loyal to David, and David's command regarding Absalom was ignored, and Absalom was killed. When David was elderly, Adonijah tried to have himself proclaimed king, and Abiathar supported Adonijah. David  commanded and sent Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet to anoint Solomon to reign as king, according to the will of the Lord God. After 70-year-old David died, Adonijah went to Bathsheba and made a specific request, and Bathsheba went to Solomon, and Adonijah was killed. Solomon removed Abiathar from being the priest to the Lord God, and set Zadok in Abiathar's place. Notably, Abiathar was descended from Moses' older brother Aaron the high priest and Aaron's son Ithamar, and Zadok was descended from Aaron's son and successor Eleazar. Over 900 years after Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, became the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land. And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and pitched in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they pitched in Gilboa. And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled. And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets. Then Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor. And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee. And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die? And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing. Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel. And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul. And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. And he said unto her, What form is he of? When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was Isaac's favorite, and Jacob was Rebekah's favorite. When Isaac was elderly, and his eyesight was weak, and his death was in his thoughts, he told Esau to hunt a specific animal and prepare a particular meal, and he would bless him. Rebekah heard Isaac's instructions, and led Jacob to deceive Isaac and cheat Esau. After Rebekah learned that Esau planned to kill Jacob, she spoke words to Isaac that led him to send Jacob from their home in Canaan to the home of Rebekah's family in Padan Aram, Haran. During the journey, when Jacob was in Bethel (Luz) asleep and dreaming, he saw the angels of God ascending and descending upon a ladder that went from earth to heaven, and Jacob saw another divine sight and the Lord God spoke to Jacob. During Jacob's 7th year in Haran, he was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughter of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. During Jacob's 20th year in Haran, he began journeying home to Canaan with his family, servants, animals, and possessions. Near Bethlehem, Benjamin was born to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died. When Joseph was 17 years old, his brothers sold him to merchants traveling to Egypt and led Jacob to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast. The merchants sold Joseph to Potiphar, an Egyptian official. After Potiphar's wife made a false accusation, Potiphar put Joseph in prison. At least 2 years after Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to the imprisoned cupbearer who served Pharaoh,  the king of Egypt, and explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh's imprisoned baker, 30-year-old Joseph explained the meaning of a dream to Pharaoh, and Pharaoh proclaimed Joseph second-in-command.  After the 2nd time that Joseph's brothers were in Egypt to buy corn during a famine, Joseph identified himself to them and told his brothers to move with their families, including Jacob, to Egypt. Pharaoh heard about the reunion and expressed his hospitality and generosity. In Beersheba, the Lord God spoke to 130-year-old Jacob. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons, and the tribe of Joseph became the tribe of Manasseh and the tribe of Ephraim. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to get the Israelites and their animals and go worship the Lord God. Moreover, Pharaoh told Moses and Aaron to bless him. Before Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur, the Israelites requested and were given an abundance of valuable goods, fulfilling the words that the Lord God spoke to Abraham when he made a covenant with Abraham. In the desert wilderness of Sinai, in the region of Mount Sinai, the Israelites heard the voice of the Lord God proclaim the Ten Commandments to them, and the Lord God began giving Moses judgments, statutes and laws for the Israelites, and the Lord God made a covenant with the Israelites. The laws revealed that the Israelties were not to permit a sorceress to live. When Moses was upon Mount Sinai 40 days and nights with the Lord God, the Lord God described to Moses and showed Moses the likeness of the sacred items that the Israelites were to make, including the breastplate and the ephod for the priests, and the Lord God gave Moses commands about the placement of the Urim and the Thummim, and the Lord God told Moses that only Aaron, and Aaron's sons and the sons born to their descendants were to serve the Lord God as priests. While the Israelites were in the Sinai region, the Lord God told Moses that the Israelites were not to seek after mediums (spiritists) and wizards (familiar spirits), and the Lord God said he would set his face against anyone who sought after mediums and wizards, and would cut those seeking mediums and wizards off from the Israelites, and mediums and wizards were to be pelted with stones until they died. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Sinai. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. Near the Promised Land, Moses publicly recounted some of the history of the Israelites and their relationship to the Lord God, and Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the commandments, judgments and laws, and Moses said that conjurers and anyone who practiced sorcery, consulted a medium, consulted a wizard, consulted the dead, must not exist among the Israelites. Upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died, and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. After 110-year-old Joshua died, and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Israelites were led by elders, judges and their own minds. When Samuel the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Levi was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelite elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them, and Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, to reign, according to the command of the Lord God. In Gilgal, Saul did not obey the command of the Lord God, and Samuel told Saul that Saul's kingdom was not going to continue, and a man after God's own heart was going to be commander of the Israelites. When Saul did not obey the command to completely destroy the Amalekites and their possessions, the Lord God spoke to Samuel, and Samuel was grieved and spent the night crying out to the Lord God. Saul lied when he saw Samuel, and offered excuses. After Samuel revealed the message of the Lord God to Saul, and Saul spoke and made a plea, Samuel told Saul that the Lord God rejected Saul from being king, and has torn the kingdom from Saul, and given the kingdom to a neighbor better than Saul. Samuel killed King Agag, ruler of the Amalekites, and cut Agag's body in pieces, and mourned for Saul, and stopped going to see Saul. The Lord God spoke to Samuel and sent him to Bethlehem, and Samuel anointed David, from the tribe of Judah, to reign as king, according to the command of the Lord God. The Spirit of the Lord came upon David, and the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul. When Saul heard about David's skills, strength, appearance, and favor with the Lord God, Saul demanded that David's father Jesse send David to him, and David began serving as a musician and an armor-bearer for Saul. Amid the Valley of Elah, David killed and beheaded Goliath the gigantic Philistine from Gath. David and Jonathan, Saul's son, made a covenant. The Israelite women sang of David higher than they sang of Saul, and Saul was angry. Saul wanted to kill David, and became afraid of David, and sent David on missions to get killed, and commanded others, including Jonathan to kill David. Saul's daughter Michal was married to David and helped David escape from their home. David went to Samuel, in Ramah, Samuel's hometown, and Saul was informed and went to Ramah. The Spirit of God came upon Saul, and Saul prophesied while in Samuel's presence. David left Ramah and went to Jonathan, and when Jonathan gave an excuse for David's absence, Saul cast a spear at Jonathan. In Nob, David went to Ahimelech the priest. In Gath, David went to King Achish, a Philistine king. In the cave in Adullman, approximately 400 distressed, discontented, and indebted men joined David, and David and his men stayed in the forest, and Keilah, and in the wilderness, and in the wilderness of Maon. At least twice, David refused to kill Saul, and Saul spoke kindly to David. When David returned to Gath, David asked to be given a separate town, and Achish gave Ziklag to David. After the Philistines killed Jonathan and his brothers Malchishua and Abinadab (Ishui?), and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David, and David began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) ruled over the other Israelite tribes. After Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David, and David made a covenant with them. The elders anointed 37-year-old David, and David began to rule over all of the Israelites. At least 950 years after Solomon, a son born to David and Bathsheba, became the 3rd king to rule over all of the Israelites, and 70-year-old David died, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born.
