The Lord God Himself

From a letter written by the apostle Paul (Saul),

with Timothy (Timotheus), to believers in

Corinth and the surrounding areas, years after

Jesus the Christ, the Son of God,

was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried

in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500

people, and returned to heaven:

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. For we would not brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly  to you-ward.-2 Corinthians 1:3-12

Not at All

King Amaziah, the 8th king to rule Judah,

the southern nation in the Promised Land

In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah. He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did. Howbeit the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places. And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father. But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.-2 Kings 14:1-6

Proverbs Chapter 11 consists of 31 verses,

1.A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

2.When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

3.The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

4.Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

5.The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6.The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

7.When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perish.

8.The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

9.An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

10.When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

11.By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12.He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

13.A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

14.Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

King Rehoboam, 

the son of King Solomon and Naamah, 

and grandson of King David and Bathsheba,

and the 4th king to rule over all of the

 Israelites in the Promised Land:

And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for to Shechem were all Israel come to make him king. And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was in Egypt, whither he fled from the presence of Solomon the king, heard it, that Jeroboam returned out of Egypt. And they sent and called him. So Jeroboam and all Israel came and spake to Rehoboam, saying, Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy father, and his heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we will serve thee. And he said unto them, Come again unto me after three days. And the people departed.-2 Chronicles 10:1-5

And Rehoboam took counsel with the old men that had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, What counsel give ye me to return answer to this people? And they spake unto him, saying, If thou be king to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever.-2 Chronicles 10:6-7

But he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him, that stood before him. And he said unto them, What advice give ye that we may return answer to this people, which have spoken to me, saying, Ease somewhat the yoke that thy father did put upon us? And the young men that were brought up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou answer the people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it somewhat lighter for us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins. For whereas my father put a heavy yoke upon you, I will put more to your yoke: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.-2 Chronicles 10:8-11

So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam on the third day, as the king bade, saying, Come again to me on the third day. And the king answered them roughly; and king Rehoboam forsook the counsel of the old men, And answered them after the advice of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add thereto: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.-2 Chronicles 10:12-14

So the king hearkened not unto the people: for the cause was of God, that the LORD might perform his word, which he spake by the hand of Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat. And when all Israel saw that the king would not hearken unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? and we have none inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to your tents, O Israel: and now, David, see to thine own house. So all Israel went to their tents.-2 Chronicles 10:15-16

But as for the children of Israel that dwelt in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them. Then king Rehoboam sent Hadoram that was over the tribute; and the children of Israel stoned him with stones, that he died. Like Father and Mother, Like Son

King Jehoram (Joram)

and King Ahaziah:

Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians: And they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jehoahaz, the youngest of his sons. And after all this the LORD smote him in his bowels with an incurable disease. And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness: so he died of sore diseases. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers. Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned. Forty and two years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Athaliah the daughter of Omri. He also walked in the ways of the house of Ahab: for his mother was his counsellor to do wickedly. Wherefore he did evil in the sight of the LORD like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellers after the death of his father to his destruction.-2 Chronicles 21:16-22:4***Jehoram (Joram) was born to King Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat was born to King Asa and Azubah. Asa was the great-grandson of King Solomon and Naamah. Solomon was the 2nd child born to King David and Bathsheba. When David was 30 years old, he began to reign as king only over the tribe of Judah in the Promised Land, the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), and to Abraham's son Isaac, and to Isaac's youngest fraternal twin son Jacob (Israel), and to their descendants. When David was 37 1/2 years old, he became the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites. Solomon was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites. Throughout Solomon's 40-year reign, he was married to 700 idol worshiping princesses from foreign nations, and in the latter portion of Solomon's reign, Solomon became an idolater. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city, and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city, and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Judah was sruled by David's descendants, except for the 6-year reign of Athaliah.  Athaliah was Jehoram's wife. Moreover, Athaliah was the daughter of King Ahab, the 7th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel, and the granddaughter of Ahab's father King Omri, the 6th king to rule the northern nation. Omri, Ahab and Athaliah worshiped idols. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Omri and Ahab's wickedness surpassed the wickedness of every king who ruled the northern nation of Israel before they reigned. Jezebel was a Sidonian (Zidonian) princess, and an idol worshiper, and 1 of Ahab's wives, and was responsible for the deaths of many prophets of the Lord God. Moreover, Jezebel vowed to kill Elijah the prophet, and plotted so that Naboth, an Israelite landowner from Jezreel, was killed. Although Jezebel was Ahab's wife and Athaliah was Ahab's daughter, Athaliah is not specifically identified as Jezebel's daughter, although their behavior was similar. Ahaziah, the son born to Jehoram and Athaliah, was the 6th king to rule Judah. Jezebel encouraged and prodded Ahab towards wickedness, and Athaliah encouraged and prodded Ahaziah towards wickedness. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's 20-year reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites captive. During the 9th year of the reign of King Hoshea, the 19th king to rule the northern nation, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Less than 125 years after Samaria was conquered, Ahaziah's great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim) became the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, was the 18th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. During the 11th year of the reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! The Way They Are

A message the Lord God

revealed to Zephaniah the prophet:

Woe to her that is filthy and polluted, to the oppressing city! She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God. Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow. Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law. The just LORD is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity: every morning doth he bring his judgment to light, he faileth not; but the unjust knoweth no shame. I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant. I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings. Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy. For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.-Zephaniah 3:1-9***Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and 90-year-old Sarah (Sarai). When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah, Abraham and Sarah's grandniece. Fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were born to 60-year-old Isaac and Rebekah. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Leah and Rachel, the daughters of Rebekah's brother Laban the Syrian (Aramean). Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph and Benjamin were born to Jacob and Rachel. Joseph was 30 years old when Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, proclaimed him second-in-command. Jacob was 130 years old when he moved with his family from Canaan to Egypt. In Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim, the sons born to Joseph and his wife Asenath, to be his own sons. Sometime after 147-year-old Jacob died in Egypt, and Jacob's family buried his body in Canaan, and 110-year-old Joseph and his siblings were dead, their descendants the Israelites were enslaved in Egypt. Miriam and her younger brothers Aaron and Moses were from the tribe of Levi. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. Sometime thereafter, Moses spoke to the Israelites about possible blessings and curses. Moses described the blessings that would come upon the Israelites and overtake them in the Promised Land if they obeyed the voice of the Lord God, and the curses that would come upon the Israelites if they did not obey the voice of the Lord God. Moses told the Israelites that they were to proclaim the blessings while upon Mount Gerizim, and the curses while upon Mount Ebal. Notably, Israelites in the tribe of Reuben and the tribe of Gad asked to be given some of the land that the Israelites had already conquered. Moses spoke to the Reubenites and Gadites, and after they responded, Moses gave the Reubenites, Gadites and 1/2 the tribe of Manasseh the land requested. Before  Moses went upon Mount Nebo, and the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried, Moses told the Israelites that the tribes of Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin were to stand on Mount Gerizim, and the tribes of Reuben, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, and Zebulun were to stand on Mount Ebal. Thus, after Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River, and every male born throughout the journey to the Promised Land was circumcised,  and the Israelites destroyed Jericho and its inhabitants, and the Israelites were defeated by the inhabitants of Ai, and were victorious against the inhabitants of Ai, the Israelites positioned themselves at Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal. After 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, and the elderly leaders associated with Joshua were dead, the Israelites worshiped idols. During the era of judges, the Israelites continually worshiped idols. Saul, from the tribe of Benjamin, was the 1st king to rule over the Israelites in the Promised Land. David, from the tribe of Judah, was the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and  Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Zephaniah the prophet proclaimed the words of the Lord God began proclaiming the words of the Lord God during Josiah's 31-year reign. Jehoahaz, the son born to Josiah and Hamutal, was the 16th king to rule Judah. Jehoiakim (Eliakim), the son born to Josiah and Zebudah, was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, was the 18th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. Josiah and Hamutal's son Zedekiah (Mattaniah) was the 19th king to rule Judah. During the 9th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Each and Every One

From a letter written by the apostle Paul (Saul)

to believers in Rome, years after

Jesus the Christ, the Son of God,

was betrayed, arrested, crucified, buried

in a tomb, resurrected, seen by over 500

people, and returned to heaven:

We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.-Romans 15:1-7

Sounds Like a Plan

King David, the 2nd king to rule over all

of the Israelites in the Promised Land,

and King Hanun, ruler of the Ammonites:

Now it came to pass after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his stead. And David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.-1 Chronicles 19:1-2

But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? are not his servants come unto thee for to search, and to overthrow, and to spy out the land? Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.-1 Chronicles 19:3-4

Then there went certain, and told David how the men were served. And he sent to meet them: for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Tarry at Jericho until your beards be grown, and then return.-1 Chronicles 19:5

And when the children of Ammon saw that they had made themselves odious to David, Hanun and the children of Ammon sent a thousand talents of silver to hire them chariots and horsemen out of Mesopotamia, and out of Syria-maachah, and out of Zobah. So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people; who came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle.-1 Chronicles 19:6-7 

And when David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the host of the mighty men.-1 Chronicles 19:8

And the children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array before the gate of the city: and the kings that were come were by themselves in the field.-1 Chronicles 19:9 

Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose out of all the choice of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians. And the rest of the people he delivered unto the hand of Abishai his brother, and they set themselves in array against the children of Ammon. And he said, If the Syrians be too strong for me, then thou shalt help me: but if the children of Ammon be too strong for thee, then I will help thee. Be of good courage, and let us behave ourselves valiantly for our people, and for the cities of our God: and let the LORD do that which is good in his sight. So Joab and the people that were with him drew nigh before the Syrians unto the battle; and they fled before him.-1 Chronicles 19:10-14
