King Josiah and

the Book of the Law

Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes. And the king commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Abdon the son of Micah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king's, saying, Go, enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book. And Hilkiah, and they that the king had appointed, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college:) and they spake to her to that effect. And she answered them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Tell ye the man that sent you to me, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah: Because they have forsaken me, and they have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and shall not be quenched. And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to enquire of the LORD, so shall ye say unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel concerning the words which thou hast heard; Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard thee also, saith the LORD. Behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place, and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again.-2 Chronicles 34:18-28***Throughout the years that Moses and his older brother Aaron were leading their fellow Israelites through the desert wilderness, after leading them away from Egyptian slavery and across the divinely parted Red Sea, the Lord God gave Moses, and sometimes Aaron, laws for the Israelites. During the 40th year of their journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died upon Mount Hor, and Moses went upon Mount Nebo. The Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor, was from the tribe of Ephraim, descended from Abraham (Abram the Hebrew) and Sarah (Sarai), Isaac and Rebekah, Jacob (Israel) and his 2nd wife Rachel, their firstborn son Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's 2nd born son Ephraim. After the Lord God spoke to Joshua, Joshua led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. After 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Israelites were led by elders, judges, and their own minds. When Samuel the priest, prophet and judge from the tribe of Jacob's 3rd born son Levi, the birth tribe of Aaron and Moses, was elderly, and his sons Joel (Vashni) and Abiah (Abijah) were not obeying the commands of the Lord God, and King Nahash and his Ammonite army were preparing to attack, the Israelites elders demanded that Samuel appoint a king to lead them, and Samuel anointed Saul, from the tribe of Jacob and Rachel's 2nd and last son Benjamin, to reign, according to the command of the Lord God. At least twice, Saul did not obey the commands of the Lord God. The Lord God tore the kingship from Saul and sent Samuel to anoint David, from the tribe of Jacob's 4th born son Judah, to reign as king. After the Philistines killed Saul's sons Jonathan, Malchishua and Abinadab (Ishui?), and Saul's self-inflicted death on the same battlefield, men from the tribe of Judah anointed 30-year-old David, and began to reign only over the tribe of Judah. Saul's son Ishbosheth (Eshbaal) ruled over the other Israelite tribes. Sometime after Ishbosheth was murdered, the Israelite elders went to David, and David made a covenant with then. The elders anointed 37-year-old David, and David became the 2nd king to rule over all of the Israelites. David obeyed the commands of the Lord God and was a man after God's own heart. Solomon, the 2nd child born to David and Bathsheba, was the 3rd king to reign. During the latter portion of Solomon's 40-year reign, Solomon became an idolater and did not obey the commands of the Lord God. Rehoboam, the son born to Solomon and Naamah, was the 4th king to rule over all of the Israelites. After Rehoboam gave a specific answer, the Israelites split into 2 kingdoms, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of Solomon. Judah was the nation in the south, Jerusalem was the royal city and Rehoboam was the 1st king to reign. Israel was the northern nation, Samaria was the final royal city and Jeroboam, the son born to Nebat and Zeruah, was the 1st king to reign. Jeroboam established idolatry throughout the kingdom. The northern nation was always ruled by murderers and idolaters. King Pekah was the 18th king to rule over all of the Israelites in the northern nation of Israel. During Pekah's 20-year reign, the Assyrians invaded the kingdom and King Tiglath-pileser, ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites captive. During the 9th year of the reign of King Hoshea, the 19th king to rule the northern nation, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. During the 5th year of Rehoboam's 17-year reign, King Shishak, ruler of Egypt, looted the temple of the Lord. Rehoboam's son and successor Abijam (Abijah), the 2nd king to rule Judah, did not obey the commands of the Lord God. Asa, the son born to Abijam and Maacah, was the 3rd king to rule Judah. Asa obeyed the commands of the Lord God and only worshiped the Lord God. However, Asa once sought help from King Ben-hadad, ruler of Syria (Aram). Jehoshaphat, the son born to Asa and Azubah, was the 4th king to rule Judah. Jehoshaphat obeyed the commands of the Lord God and only worshiped the Lord God, and sent Levites and priests to teach the Israelites all of the laws in the Book of the Law. Jehoshaphat's son Jehoram (Joram), the 5th king, did not obey the commands of the Lord God. Ahaziah, the son born to Jehoram and Athaliah, was the 6th king and did not obey the commands of the Lord God. After Ahaziah was wounded and died, Athaliah began to reign. When Joash (Jehoash), the son born to Ahaziah and Zibiah, was 7 years old, Jehoiada the priest presented Joash as Judah's rightful ruler. During the early portion of Joash's 40-year reign, Joash obeyed the commands of the Lord God, and Joash repaired the temple of the Lord. After Jehoiada's death, Joash stopped obeying the commands of the Lord God and was responsible for the murder of Jehoiada's son Zechariah, and 2 servants killed Joash. Amaziah, the son born to Joash and Jehoaddan, was the 8th king to rule Judah. Amaziah became an idolater during his 29-year reign and was murdered. Uzziah (Azariah), the son born to Amaziah and Jecholiah, was the 9th king to rule Judah, and obeyed the commands of the Lord God. However, Uzziah went into the temple to burn incense and was a leper for the rest of his life. Jotham, the son born to Uzziah and Jerushah, was the 10th king and obeyed the commands of the Lord God. Jotham's son Ahaz, the 11th king to rule Judah, worshiped idols. Ahaz closed the temple of the Lord God and removed consecrated altars and holy items. Hezekiah,  the son born to Ahaz and Abi (Abijah), was the 12th king to rule Judah. Hezekiah's trust in the Lord God was unparalleled among Judah's kings. Hezekiah reopened the temple, and the priests consecrated the temple. Manasseh, the son born to Hezekiah and Hephzibah, was the 13th king to rule Judah. Manasseh did not worship the Lord God. Moreover, Manasseh brought idolatry into the temple of the Lord and was responsible for innocent bloodshed that the Lord God would not forgive. After Manasseh was taken captive to Assyria, Manasseh prayed to the Lord God and the Lord God brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem. Amon, the son born to Manasseh and Meshullemeth, was the 14th king. Amon was an idolater. Josiah, the son born to Amon and Adaiah, was the 15th king to rule Judah. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that Josiah turned to the Lord God with all his heart, soul and might. Jehoahaz, the son born to Josiah and Hamutal, was the 16th king to rule Judah, and did not worship the Lord God. Jehoiakim (Eliakim), the son born to Josiah and Zebudah, was the 17th king and did not worship the Lord God. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. Jehoiachin (Jeconiah/Coniah), the son born to Jehoiakim and Nehushta, was the 18th king and did not worship the Lord God. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. Josiah and Hamutal's son Zedekiah (Mattaniah) was the 19th king to rule Judah and did not worship the Lord God. During the 11th year of Zedekiah's reign, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.-2 Chronicles 35:20...And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded. His servants therefore took him out of that chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had; and they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died, and was buried in one of the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.-2 Chronicles 35:23-24

Let Women, Let Men, Let All

to believers in Corinth and everywhere:

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. What? came the word of God  out from you? or came it unto you only? If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order.-1 Corinthians 14:34-40***In the beginning, on the 6th day, the Lord God created Adam, the 1st man. The Lord God formed Adam from the dust of the ground, and the Lord God made Eve, the mother of all living, after taking a part out of Adam. Eve and Adam disobeyed the command of the Lord God, and the Lord God sent Adam out of the Garden of Eden so that another specific transgression would not be committed. Abraham (Abram the Hebrew), Nahor (Nachor), Haran and Sarah (Sarai) were descended from Adam and Eve's son Seth, Seth's great-great-great-grandson Enoch, Enoch's great-grandson Noah the ark builder, Noah's son Shem, Shem's son Arphaxad, and Arphaxad's great-great-great-great-great-grandson Terah. Isaac was born to 100-year-old Abraham and 90-year-old Sarah (Sarai). Nahor was married to Haran's daughter Milcah. Bethuel the Syrian (Aramean) was born to Haran and Milcah. Laban the Syrian (Aramean) and Rebekah were born to Bethuel. When Isaac was 40 years old, he was married to Rebekah. When fraternal twin sons Esau (Edom) and Jacob (Israel) were in Rebekah's womb, Rebekah questioned the Lord God and received an answer from the Lord God about the activity of the sons in her womb. In Padan Aram, Haran, Jacob was married to Laban's daughters Leah  and Rachel. Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, and daughter Dinah were born to Jacob and Leah. Dan and Naphtali were born to Jacob and Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant. Gad and Asher were born to Jacob and Zilpah, Leah's maidservant. Joseph was the 1st son born to Jacob and Rachel. Over 300 years after Benjamin was born near Bethlehem to Jacob and Rachel, and Rachel died, Miriam, Aaron and Moses were born into the tribe of Levi to Jochebed and Amram during the era of Israelite enslavement in Egypt. When Moses was 3 months old, Jochebed placed Moses into a specially prepared ark and set the ark near the vegetation by the river, to save Moses' life. Miriam watched the activity and spoke to the daughter of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, and arranged for Jochebed to serve as Moses' wet nurse. Sometime after Moses was weaned, Jochebed took Moses to the palace and Moses lived as the son of Pharaoh's daughter. When Moses was 40 years old, he killed an Egyptian. After the murder was mentioned to Moses during another conflict, and Pharaoh wanted to kill Moses, Moses hurriedly left Egypt and began living in Midian, and was married to Zipporah, a Midianite woman. When Moses was 80 years old and Aaron was 83, the Lord God sent them to speak to the Israelite elders and Pharaoh. After the Lord God brought the 10th and final plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, Moses and Aaron led the Israelites, and those with them, away from Egypt, across the divinely parted Red Sea, and into the desert wilderness of Shur. During the 40-year journey to Canaan, the Promised Land, Miriam the prophetess  died and was buried in Kadesh, in the desert wilderness of Zin. Upon Mount Hor, 123-year-old Aaron the high priest died. Shortly thereafter, Mahlah and her sisters asked to be given a portion of the Promised Land on behalf of their deceased father Zelophehad, who did not have any sons to inherit land. Zelophehad and his daughters were Israelites from the tribe of Manasseh, descended from Joseph and his wife Asenath, and Joseph and Asenath's firstborn son Manasseh. The divinely inspired Scriptures of the Holy Bible reveal that in Egypt, Jacob proclaimed Manasseh and Ephraim to be his own sons. Moses spoke to the Lord God, and the Lord God told Moses that Mahlah and her sisters spoke rightly. Thus, the Lord God gave Moses an additional inheritance law for the Israelites. When Moses went upon Mount Nebo, the Lord God showed Moses the Promised Land, and 120-year-old Moses the prophet died and was divinely buried. Joshua, Moses' aide and successor from the tribe of Ephraim, led the Israelites across the divinely parted Jordan River and onto the land that the Lord God promised to give to Abraham, and Isaac, and to Jacob, and their descendants. After 110-year-old Joshua died and was buried in his tribe's portion of the Promised Land, the Israelites were led by elders, judges, and their own minds. Deborah the prophetess, wife and judge spoke the words of the Lord God to Barak. After Barak stated that he would go to battle only if Deborah was with him, Deborah told Barak that the Lord God would give the upcoming victory into a woman's hand. Subsequently, the enemy whom Barak should have defeated was killed by Jael, the wife of Heber, and Deborah and Barak included Jael's name and actions in a song. When the Israelites were living in 2 separate kingdoms in the Promised Land, and King Josiah was reigning in Jerusalem over Judah, the southern nation, the Book of the Law was found within the temple of the Lord. Josiah sent Hilkiah the high priest and 4 others with Hilkiah to seek the Lord God. The group went to speak with Huldah, a prophetess and wife, and Huldah proclaimed the message she received from the Lord God. Over 500 years after both of the kingdoms in the Promised Land were conquered, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, was born. Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Josiah and all of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. On the 8th day after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was circumcised, according to the covenant of circumcision that the Lord God gave 99-year-old Abraham. On the 40th day after Jesus was born, Joseph and Mary brought Jesus to Jerusalem to the temple of the Lord God, obeying the laws that the Lord God gave Moses for the Israelites. In Jerusalem, Jesus, Joseph and Mary were in the presence of Simeon and Anna. Simeon was an Israelite and worshiped the Lord God. Anna was an Israelite, a prophetess and widow from the tribe of Asher, and lived within the temple grounds and served the Lord, continually praying and fasting. Upon seeing Jesus, Anna praised the Lord. Moreover, Anna spoke of Jesus to others awaiting redemption. Approximately 30 years after Jesus was born to Joseph and Mary, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by Mary's relative John the Baptist, from the tribe of Levi. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Less than 3 1/2 years after Jesus was baptized, Jesus was betrayed by Judas Iscariot the disciple and apostle, and Jesus was arrested, crucified, buried in a tomb, resurrected, and returned to heaven. Paul (Saul) was an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin and did not believe Jesus to be the Christ. Throughout Jerusalem, Paul persecuted and imprisoned  Israelites who believed Jesus to be the Christ of God. Near Damascus, Syria, Paul and those with him saw a light from heaven flash around them. Paul heard the voice of Jesus speaking to him, and Paul spoke to Jesus and obeyed Jesus. In Damascus, Paul was baptized. Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders. And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered? But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. The Lord God gave Isaiah revelations about the day of the Lord, and a virgin who shall conceive a Son to be called Immanuel, and the day of the vengeance of the Lord God, and the help of the Lord God for the Israelites, and the Servant of the Lord God, and the one despised and rejected, and a divine  invitation, and new heavens and a new earth. Before the Assyrians invaded the northern nation of Israel, and King Tiglath-pileser,  ruler of Assyria, began taking Israelites captive, the Lord God gave messages and warnings, through his prophets, for the Israelites. During the 6th year of Hezekiah's reign over Judah, the Assyrians conquered Samaria, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites, and more Israelites were taken to Assyria. The Lord God gave Isaiah and other prophets messages and warnings for the Israelites in Judah. Hezekiah's great-great-grandson Jehoiakim (Eliakim), was the 17th king to rule Judah. During Jehoiakim's 11-year reign, the Babylonians (Chaldeans) invaded Judah and Jerusalem and King Nebuchadnezzar, ruler of Babylon, began looting the temple of the Lord. During Jehoiachin's 3-month reign, the Babylonians took more prominent Israelites, including Jehoiachin, his wives and mother, to Babylon. During the 11th year of the reign of Jehoiakim's brother King Zedekiah (Mattaniah), the 19th king to rule Judah, the Babylonians conquered Jerusalem, according to the will of the Lord God, due to the  idolatry and other wickedness of the Israelites, and more Israelites, including Zedekiah, were taken to Babylon. Over 500 years after Israelites began returning to Judah and Jerusalem, John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, were born. John the Baptist was born into the tribe of Jacob and Leah's 3rd born son Levi to Zechariah (Zacharias) the priest and his wife Elizabeth (Elisabeth). Jesus the Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit in the womb of Elizabeth's relative Mary, a virgin, and Jesus was born into the tribe of Judah, the tribe of Judah's kings, to Mary and her husband Joseph when Mary was a virgin. Approximately 30 years after John the Baptist and Jesus the Christ were born, Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Jesus having prayed, the heavens tearing open, the Holy Spirit descended as a dove and lit upon Jesus. The Lord God in heaven audibly acknowledged his Son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert wilderness. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights and was tempted. Afterwards, Jesus was tended to by angels, and Jesus went to the area near John the Baptist, and John the Baptist proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God taking away the sin of the world, and testified that Jesus is the Son of God. In Galilee, Jesus told specific Israelite men to follow him, and Jesus began to preach, teach and perform miracles among the Israelites, the treasured and chosen people of the Lord God. Psalm 58

Do ye indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? do ye judge  uprightly, O  ye  sons of men? Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth. The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear; Which will not hearken to the voice of charmers, charming never so wisely. Break their teeth, O God, in their mouth: break out the great teeth of the young lions, O LORD. Jesus the Christ, the Son of God,

and Nicodemus the Pharisee:

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is  born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? There and There and Everywhere

A vision seen by Amos the prophet decades before

the northern nation of Israel was conquered by the

Assyrians, and Judah, the southern nation, was

conquered by the Babylonians, according to the 

will of the Lord God, due to the idolatry and other

wickedness of the Israelites in the Promised Land:

I saw the LORD standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that escapeth  of them shall not be delivered. Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down: And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them: And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good. And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt. It is he that buildeth his stories in the heaven, and hath founded his troop in the earth; he that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name.-Amos 9:1-6
